Job Title: Groundskeeper

Bargaining Unit: OSEA
Wage: Depends on Relevant Experience and based on the OSEA Collective Bargaining Agreement
Schedule: 4 hours per day 258 days per school year
GENERAL DUTIES- Grounds Keeper
Perform general maintenance assignments in the grounds and irrigation. Maintain and repair equipment. Assist other maintenance personnel in the completion of work orders and assignments.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  1. High school diploma or its equivalent
  2. One year experience in groundskeeping, equipment maintenance and mechanical repair
  3. Proficient oral and written communication skills in English
  4. Proficient in the use of computer and Internet based applications, including but not limited to email and systems applications
  5. Pass a pre-employment drug test
  6. Hold a valid Oregon driver's license

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Maintain school grounds and softscape elements
  2. Operate a variety of manual and powered tools and equipment, including automotive equipment
  3. Load, deliver and unload supplies and equipment
  4. Perform basic construction work in concrete, wood, metal and other applicable materials
  5. Assist other skilled maintenance workers
  6. Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to equipment
  7. Install or move recreational equipment, fences and other field equipment
  8. Perform excavation work
  9. Apply insecticides, pesticides or herbicides, in compliance with the Oregon Integrated Pest Management In Schools rules
  10. May perform the duties of a custodian
