Job description

Printpack's Graphic Services team is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of plant Graphics Coordinator. This position will be remote. This role will report to the Graphic Coordination Supervisor.
This Graphics Coordinator involves coordinating prepress requirements for customer accounts and reviewing electronic artwork for print production. The candidate must be able to communicate effectively at all organizational levels. Additional skills desired are a thorough knowledge of the graphics process as it relates to flexographic printing and demonstrated competence in front-end graphic software.Purpose:
  • Coordinate the development of graphics for U.S. converting facilities through internal and external customer-facing communication. This includes end customers, internal customers, and suppliers.
  • Provide technical expertise and developmental input for new and revised graphics for customers with established workflows for flexographic printing.
  • Manage graphics development to maximize print efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and participate in a culture of Safety and Quality.
  • Coordinate and develop graphics projects and accurate supporting paperwork across multiple Printpack U.S. converting facilities.
  • Solicit input from production departments in the development of new graphics and revisions.
  • Resolve daily challenges and build long-term relationships with customers, vendors, and production staff.
  • Execute accurate and timely graphics invoicing.
  • Engage in healthy graphics interaction and communication with other functional groups throughout Printpack, supporting continuous improvement throughout the organization.
  • Act as a flexographic technical resource for plant production, sales, and customers during onboarding of new accounts and revisions to existing, ensuring clear understanding of capabilities and outcomes by all parties.
  • Execute project-based work to successful completion.

Challenges
  • Production facilities requesting graphics setup that does not align with BDP's and standardization efforts.
  • Incorrect root cause diagnosis for printing issues from various other functional groups.
  • Establishing realistic project expectations and timelines with Sales/Customers that are achievable by Printpack. Graphics associates validate that graphics are set up to meet customers' expectations and manufacturing requirements. Other challenges can surface with conflicts between Customers/ Sales and internal initiatives (ex. Colorpack is more profitable for Printpack, but not all customer designs benefit from Colorpack).
  • Challenges with staying current with prepress industry trends and customer workflow requirements to strengthen Printpack's prepress value proposition.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in graphics, related field, or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Proficiency in the following:
    • Enterprise Systems, or other database software
    • Electronic File Management, Flexographic prepress workflows,
    • General understanding of flexographic equipment and hardware.
    • Experience with remote project management a plus.

  • Ability to work flexibly across multiple business units and communicate effectively at all

  • Possesses the ability to multitask daily activities and manage multiple communication streams.

Physical Demands & Travel:

  • Physical Demands: Prolonged periods working at a desk in an office environment. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Travel Requirements: 5% travel (PPK locations, customer visits, training seminars/conferences)

Work Conditions:


  • When working in the field, an incumbent may be required to work on the plant floor, make long walks to review existing conditions, take measurements, etc.
  • Position is typically a Monday-Friday day position, except for working in plants or supporting projects, which may result in longer hours for periods of time.
  • During visits to Manufacturing Plants, associates may be exposed to the manufacturing environment where hazards and requirements may include, but are not limited to the use of Personal Protective Equipment (noise above 80 dB., solvent fumes, plates, and inks).
