A Taste of What You'll Do
As a Seasonal Courier/Lab Aide, you'll play a hands-on role supporting GALLO's Chemistry group during one of the most critical and exciting times of the year. This role blends fieldwork, transportation, and laboratory support, offering variety in your day and the opportunity to contribute directly to grape quality assessment across multiple winery locations.
You'll be responsible for transporting grape samples between vineyards, wineries, and laboratories throughout the North Coast and Central Valley. Along the way, you'll ensure samples are handled with care, properly logged, and delivered accurately and on time. Your work will help ensure laboratory teams receive what they need to analyze grape quality and support winemaking decisions.
In addition to courier duties, you'll assist with grape sorting, labeling, sample preparation, and maintaining an organized, clean lab environment. You'll collaborate closely with team members, communicate updates using GALLO-provided devices, and support field and lab operations as needed. This role requires flexibility, reliability, and a commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork while working long days during the harvest season.

What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's Degree OR High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus previous GALLO experience OR High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus previous winery or vineyard experience.
  • Required to be at least 18 years of age.
  • Required to work overtime, weekends, and any shift, when needed.
  • This position requires seasonal availability for a 7 day work week (8-12 hours per day).
  • Required to lift and move 50 pounds.
  • Candidate is required to have a valid driver's license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver's license based on the position's location within 30 days of hire.
  • Specific vision requirements for this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
