Job description

Midway University invites applicants for a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor of Sport Management in the James C Bowling School of Business. Midway University is a non-tenure granting institution but has a structured path for rank advancement based on teaching, scholarship, and service.
Midway University's Sport Management area is comprised of undergraduate programs in Coaching and Sport Leadership, Sport Management and Sport Marketing. At the graduate level we offer an MBA with a Sports Management concentration.
This area is one of the institutions' fastest growing majors and is the second largest in the university. Undergraduate students in our sports focused majors and minors are highly involved in community-focused experiential learning that capitalizes on the depth and breadth of the discipline and strong partnerships.
Duties: The successful candidate will develop and teach courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels; Courses will be taught both in face-to-face and online formats. The candidate must be able to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with colleagues. All faculty are expected to advise students, serve on committees, be engaged in campus life, and maintain currency in the field. Research in the field is encouraged but not required.
Minimum Qualifications: Doctorate in Sport Management with preference given to candidates with expertise in Sport Communication and Sales and emerging sport management areas. Experience teaching both face-to-face and online is a plus. ABD candidates will also be considered.
This position offers flexible start timing, either January 1, 2027, or August 1, 2027, based on candidate availability and mutual fit.
