DESCRIPTION
Otterbein University in partnership with Antioch University Graduate School seeks highly motivated and eager Graduate Teaching Assistants in multiple Athletic programs for the 2026-27 academic year.
Otterbein University, an NCAA Division III institution, competing in the Ohio Athletic Conference. Located in Westerville, OH, Otterbein is a liberal arts institution with a highly competitive athletic history.
This is a 10-month position with a full tuition waiver, stipend valued up to $6,000 (less applicable taxes), a meal plan, and potential housing support available.
This position is eligible for a Spring semester start as a 5-month position with a full tuition waiver, stipend valued up to $3,000 (less applicable taxes), a meal plan and potential housing support available.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Graduate Teaching Assistant is a ten-month position starting Summer 2026, and is renewable for a second year (two years total). A spring semester 2027 start is possible. The second year appointment is contingent upon successful completion of GA duties and responsibilities. All GA's must adhere to their graduate program requirements including maintaining a minimum 3.0 GPA and must be enrolled in graduate coursework in each semester of the appointment with Otterbein University or Antioch University.
Working nights and weekends is a must and minimal travel may be required.
Available position(s):
Coaching: The primary responsibility will be to assist the head coach in all facets of the program, including the recruitment of student-athletes, organization and planning of practices, game preparation, administrative duties, scouting and monitoring of student-athlete academic progress.
- Position available in the following program(s): Football, XC/Track & Field, Softball, Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball, Athletic Communications, Men's Lacrosse, and Women's Wrestling.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's Degree
• Acceptance into a graduate program with Otterbein University or an on-line or low residency Graduate program with Antioch University:
- Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Science in Allied Health (MSAH), Master of Athletic Training (MSAT), Master of Arts Teaching (MAT), Master of Art in Education (MAE), Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) Ohio
• Must live locally while classes are in session
• A valid driver license; Must complete Otterbein Driving certification.
• Previous participation and/or coaching experience in college athletics preferred
