Job description

Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in program management working on engineering infrastructure programs for data centers, including cross functional (e.g., finance, supply chain) experience.
  • 8 years of experience in infrastructure and operations.
  • Experience in portfolio management, including making tradeoffs between performance, efficiency, and business goals.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience working across cross-organizational portfolios and teams.
  • Knowledge of systems, processes, and infrastructure efficiency.
  • Knowledge of the areas of opportunity and metrics/challenges in scaling of operations for data centers and infrastructure.
  • Excellent program management skills, with the ability to drive cross-functional programs in the area of data centers and operational efficiencies.
  • Excellent investigative, problem-solving, negotiation, presentation, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.
In this role, the goal of the team is to deliver in partnership with the engineering and operational verticals (e.g., compute, storage, ML, and operations), measurable efficiencies for the Google fleet. You will drive resource efficiency and sustainability initiatives, and deliver towards company level Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and sustainability goals. You will partner with the engineering leads across several cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., finance, product operations, etc.) to deliver measurable and impactful efficiency and sustainability impact to Google.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $189,000-$274,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
  • Lead cross-cutting programs within efficiency with a focus on metrics that deliver towards measurable impact and a more efficient use of resources in the Google fleet, and deliver towards Google's efficiency goals.
  • Develop processes and tools, in partnership with the engineering and data science teams, to measure metrics for the portfolio of operational efficiency initiatives in AI and infrastructure .
  • Partner with finance and key stakeholders in areas adjacent to efficiency to build auditable mechanisms to track and report impact at the company level, scaling the existing processes.
