About the Role:

Wing is looking for a People (HR) Operations Specialist to join our team of builders. The role is hybrid based in our Palo Alto, CA office. In this role, you will be integral to the scaling and management of the people-related processes that keep Wing running smoothly. Are you ready to roll up their sleeves and do amazing things?

What You'll Do: 

  • Employee Lifecycle & Operations
    • Assist with People Operations processes including onboarding, offboarding, documentation, and employee records management.
    • Partner with the People Programs Team to manage onboarding processes that ensure a positive user experience and fast ramp up for our new hires. This will include occasionally leading monthly in person New Hire Orientation.
    • Manage offboarding process flow (e.g., HRIS inputs, documentation creation, etc.).
    • Manage employee data changes (e.g., job code, manager, etc.)
    • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws and internal policies.
  • HRIS Management
    • Maintain HRIS data integrity, conduct regular data audits, and generate standard reports.
    • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and create scalable processes.
    • Analyze data and build dashboards that give leadership real-time insights.
  • Immigration & Compliance
    • Assist with work authorization processes (H-1B transfers/renewals, TN, green cards) and coordinate with immigration counsel.
    • Navigate multi-state and international compliance requirements.
  • Employee Support
    • Act as a go-to resource for employee inquiries, accurately assessing problems and knowing exactly when to involve your manager for guidance or support on complex employee issues.

What You'll Need: 

  • 3-6 years of relevant experience working in People Operations, data management, or a related specialized area.
  • Foundational knowledge in Workday, ServiceNow, Ultipro, and Google Workspace (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.).
  • Experience in a startup or high-growth company environment.
  • Experience managing visa processes or partnering with immigration counsel.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices, particularly multi-state compliance.
  • Excellent relationship-builder with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Extremely organized, proactive, and comfortable juggling multiple priorities.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid change.
  • The ability to effectively communicate regularly to peers and cross-functional partners.
  • Desire to learn, grow, and think outside the box.
