Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Arizona Kidney Disease and Hypertension Centers (AKDHC) is seeking a dynamic and accomplished Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead a premier, physician-owned nephrology organization through its next phase of strategic growth and innovation. This role offers a rare opportunity to partner closely with a highly engaged physician Board of Directors to shape enterprise strategy, optimize operational and financial performance, and advance patient-centered kidney care in a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape. The ideal candidate brings demonstrated success leading complex, multi-site healthcare organizations and possesses a nuanced understanding of nephrology-adjacent business models, including value-based care, dialysis partnerships, ancillary services, and real estate strategy.

  • Comprehensive health coverage: Medical, dental, and vision insurance subsidized at 70%-100%, depending on the plan the employee selects
  • Robust retirement planning: 401(k) plan available with employer matching

Plus, we work to maintain the best environment for our employees, where people can learn and grow with the company. We strive to provide a collaborative, creative environment where everyone feels encouraged to contribute to our processes, decisions, planning, and culture.
To be successful as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), you should have:
  • Master's degree required, with an MBA, MHA, or comparable advanced degree preferred.
  • Senior executive leadership experience within an extensive, physician-owned medical practice, with demonstrated success leading medical groups of 50+ physicians in a specialty care environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in nephrology practice management, dialysis economics, or closely related specialty care models, including multi-site operations.
  • Advanced financial and strategic management capabilities, including budgeting, forecasting, performance analytics, and execution of complex growth initiatives.
  • Proven ability to partner effectively with physician boards and navigate sophisticated governance structures, supported by polished written and verbal communication skills.

Your responsibilities as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will include:
  • Lead and execute enterprise strategy to drive sustainable growth across nephrology-specific opportunities, including dialysis partnerships, value-based kidney care, population health, and ancillary services.
  • Evaluate and implement alternative payment and risk-based models, positioning the organization for success in evolving reimbursement and regulatory environments.
  • Oversee financial and operational performance across complex revenue streams, ensuring excellence in revenue cycle management, cost control, compliance, and quality reporting.
  • Develop and expand strategic partnerships with dialysis providers, hospitals, health systems, and payers, while identifying opportunities for geographic expansion and practice affiliations.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the physician Board of Directors, supporting effective governance, long-term planning, and alignment between clinical priorities and business objectives.
  • Build, lead, and hold accountable a high-performing executive leadership team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
