Job description

  • Responsible for working directly with the Maintenance Manager to maintain satisfactory up-time and optimum utilization of equipment.

  • Help create and document preventative maintenance program procedures on all capital equipment, including but not limited to, injection molding machines, granulators, dryers, water tower, chiller, etc.

  • Ability to develop specifications and makes recommendations on auxiliary and other equipment purchases

  • Responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of all facility and production equipment

  • Ability to operate mobile equipment such as skid loaders, scissor lifts, forklifts, etc.

  • Maintains appropriate documentation of maintenance schedules, equipment installations, structural repairs and work orders and other operating reports for facility

  • Maintains maintenance budget including monitoring inventory and expenses

  • Performs other related tasks and duties as assigned

- On call 24 hours for any maintenance related issues that could impact company's ability to meet customer commitment.

Responsible for maintaining calibration of injection machine controls and to insure all screws and barrels are meet minimum requirements.

  • Responsible for providing technical assistance on all things related to facility maintenance including electrical systems, building construction, plumbing, etc.

  • Drives continuous improvement across all aspects of the operation

  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly work area

  • Maintain company grounds to insure safety and good 5S housekeeping.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Graduate or GED

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in maintenance of industrial equipment including injection molding machines. In lieu of experience with injection molding machines would be acceptable to have experience maintaining blow molding or extrusion machines.

  • Must have experience with industrial mechanical repair including hydraulics repair, motors, pumps, etc.

  • Must possess electrical knowledge and the ability to interpret electrical schematics & troubleshoot complex electrical wiring systems.

  • Must be able to diagnose problems with equipment and devise best solutions for repairs on time and within budget.

Knowledge/Skills and Abilities:

  • A positive can-do attitude

  • Good interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to make timely, fact-based decisions; shows good judgment
  • Proficient in the ability to read and interpret Engineering Drawings, electrical and hydraulic schematics
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical control systems and hydraulic systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot single or three phase electrical motors
  • The understanding of logic controls is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and handle projects to completion
  • Ability to oversee and drive improvement projects
