Job description

Position: Grounds Crew/Operator
Department: Keith Hills
Status: Part Time
Position Summary:
The Grounds Crew/Operator position is a part-time position that under the supervision of the course superintendent, assistant superintendents and equipment manager, performs all aspects of maintenance to the Keith HIlls Golf Club.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Mowing turfgrass including greens, fairways, tees boxes, roughs and landscaped areas.
  • Performs daily course setup to include moving tees, pin locations, out of bounds and hazard markers.
  • Performs all aspects of landscape maintenance including pruning, planting, weeding, mulching, edging and blowing.
  • Performs sand-trap maintnenace including raking and edging.
  • This position demands accuracy, honesty, integrity and the ability to work within the Christian mission of Campbell University.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

Education/Experience:
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in golf course maintenance of landscaping preferred but not required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Maintain a valid North Carolinas driver's license.
  • Knowledge of safe, efficient mechanical operation of tractors and other motorized equipment.
  • Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy and discretion in dealing with golfers, faculty, staff, students, and university officials.
  • Work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people.
  • Detail-oriented and willing to work in a changing environment.
  • Upon hire, have a broad knowledge of, and abide by, Campbell University policies and procedures, including, but not limited to; Title IX and FERPA guidelines.
