Lions Tigers & Bears is a federally and state licensed nonprofit sanctuary dedicated to providing a haven for rescued exotic animals and educating the public about the dangers of the exotic animal trade. Located on a 93-acre ranch in Alpine, California, the organization provides lifetime care for lions, tigers, bears, and other rescued animals that have been abandoned, abused, or confiscated from illegal situations.

Founded in 2002, Lions Tigers & Bears has grown into a nationally recognized sanctuary and advocacy organization working to end the exploitation and private ownership of exotic animals. Through responsible rescue, high-quality animal care, community education, and legislative advocacy, the organization seeks to create a world where wild animals live free from abuse and exploitation.

Position Summary

Lions Tigers & Bears is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Gift Processing Coordinator to support the organization’s donor database management, fundraising operations, and administrative functions. Reporting to the Director of Development, this position plays a critical role in maintaining accurate donor and constituent records, processing gifts and donations, generating reports, and ensuring the integrity of organizational data.

This individual should be passionate about animal welfare and conservation and appreciate the vital role donors, members, volunteers, and supporters play in advancing the mission of Lions Tigers & Bears.

Position Duties and Responsibilities

Donor Database & CRM Management

Enter, update, and maintain donor, member, volunteer, and constituent records within the organization’s CRM and database systems.

Process donations, pledges, memberships, sponsorships, and other fundraising transactions in a timely and accurate manner.

Review records for accuracy, completeness, and consistency while correcting discrepancies as needed.

Maintain donor communication preferences and constituent contact information.

Assist with donor acknowledgment processes, ensuring gifts are recorded accurately and recognition activities are supported.

Support data cleanup projects and ongoing database maintenance efforts.

Monitor database quality and recommend improvements to data management practices.

Reporting & Administrative Support

Generate routine and ad hoc reports for development, fundraising, membership, and leadership teams.

Assist with donor prospecting and list management projects.

Prepare mailing lists, donor reports, and campaign tracking reports.

Support fundraising events through participant registration tracking and database management.

Assist with volunteer and membership record maintenance.

Organize and maintain digital records and documentation related to donor and fundraising activities.

Provide general administrative support to the Development Department as assigned.

Collaboration & Mission Support

Work closely with the Director of Development and other team members to support fundraising initiatives and donor stewardship efforts.

Maintain confidentiality of donor, financial, and organizational information.

Serve as a positive ambassador for Lions Tigers & Bears and its mission.

Demonstrate a commitment to animal welfare, conservation, and the organization's values in daily work activities.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.

One to two years of professional experience in data entry, administrative support, database management, customer service, or a related field.

Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy and consistency.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook.

Experience working with nonprofit donor databases or CRM systems.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive information.

Demonstrated commitment to accuracy and quality in data management.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business, nonprofit management, administration, communications, or a related field.

Experience using DonorPerfect is preferred.

Previous experience supporting fundraising, membership, or donor relations activities.

Familiarity with reporting and data analysis tools.

Experience working in a nonprofit, animal welfare, conservation, or mission-driven organization.

· Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and navigate uneven terrain.

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly compensation of approximately $25.00 per hour.
