As of Jun 24, 2026, the average hourly pay for general laborer parttime in the United States is $17.52, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $15.38 and $19.23 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What jobs make $1000 per hour?

General laborer positions typically do not pay $1000 per hour; such high wages are usually found in specialized fields like surgeons, anesthesiologists, or high-level executives. Some freelance or consulting roles in niche industries may reach that level, but they are not common in standard labor jobs. Most part-time general labor roles offer hourly wages significantly below this amount.

What are General Laborers (Part-time)?

General Laborers (Part-time) are workers who perform a variety of physical tasks on a flexible or reduced schedule, typically assisting with construction, maintenance, cleaning, or warehouse duties. Their responsibilities can include loading and unloading materials, operating basic machinery, helping skilled workers, and maintaining clean work areas. Part-time laborers usually work fewer hours than full-time employees, making this role suitable for those seeking supplemental income or a flexible work arrangement. No formal education is typically required, but physical stamina and reliability are important qualities.

How can I make 2000 a week working from home?

A part-time general laborer typically cannot earn $2000 weekly working from home, as this role usually involves on-site physical tasks with limited remote opportunities. To reach higher earnings, consider developing specialized skills, taking on multiple jobs, or pursuing higher-paying roles that offer remote work, such as freelance contracting or online services. Building experience and certifications can also increase earning potential over time.

What are some common challenges faced by part-time general laborers, and how can they be overcome?

Part-time general laborers often face challenges such as adapting to varying tasks, managing physical demands, and adjusting to changing schedules. Since duties can range from moving materials to cleaning and assisting skilled workers, flexibility and a willingness to learn are key. To overcome these challenges, it's helpful to communicate clearly with supervisors about task expectations, use proper safety equipment, and maintain physical fitness. Building strong relationships with team members also makes it easier to adapt and collaborate effectively.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a General Laborer (Part-time), and why are they important?

To thrive as a General Laborer (Part-time), you need physical stamina, basic math skills, and the ability to follow instructions, usually with a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with hand tools, power equipment, and adherence to safety protocols such as OSHA guidelines is often required. Dependability, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work well in teams help individuals stand out in this role. These skills and qualities are vital for maintaining workplace safety, efficiency, and productivity in various manual labor settings.

Can you work part-time as a labourer?

Yes, general laborer positions are often available for part-time work, allowing individuals to work fewer hours than full-time schedules. These roles typically require physical stamina and may involve tasks such as loading, unloading, or site cleanup, and can be suitable for those seeking flexible employment options.
