Job Title: General Assembler

Job Purpose: The Assembler is responsible for constructing and preparing boats by assembling various components and ensuring they meet quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Use hand tools, drills, screw guns, and other equipment to assemble the two parts of the boat, hull, and deck.
  • Follow each process as carpet, transom hardware, engine, bilge equipment, ballast tanks, deck wiring, deck hardware, stereo, and helm assemblies are being completed through an assembly line with pre-determined roll times.
  • Inspects all parts after production to ensure they are complete and up to quality standards.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings and understanding the specifications and requirements for boat assembly.
  • Ability to use hand and pneumatic tools.
  • Installing components such as fitting engines, outdrives, electrical harnesses, pumps, storage, fuel tanks, and upholstery.
  • Operating power and air tools to cut parts and assemble boat hulls, decks, and other components.
  • Inspecting and testing by checking the quality of assembled parts and making necessary adjustments or repairs
  • Maintaining equipment by keeping tools and machinery in good working condition
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent level of training
  • One or more years of experience in general labor

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperature occasionally.
  • Must be able to bend at waist and knees and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to climb into and out of interior of boats.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds when necessary.
  • Be able to drive a forklift when necessary.
  • Keep the work area clean and orderly.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The factory in certain areas maintains a high fiberglass and dust environment.
Personal Protective Equipment might be required in certain areas of the factory including but not limited to safety glasses, respirator, hearing protection, gloves, and protective garments.
