OSI Optoelectronics is currently seeking a Temp Assembler. This individual will read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble parts and/or products. They will also follow methods and sequence of operations in performing component installation, hand soldering, and cap welding on assembly units. Additionally, they will use thinking and reasoning to solve problems and/or recommend updates on department procedures and manufacturing process.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare/ clean material and product for in-process and/or final assembly.
  • Complex die attach using automatic/ semi-automatic equipment per customer requirements on traveler and drawings.
  • Complex encapsulation using epoxy per customer requirements on traveler and drawings.
  • Operate assembly equipment, to complete complex assemblies, using: pick-and-place, laser marker, ink pad printer, wire bonding, soldering iron, etc.
  • Uphold the company's core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork.
  • Demonstrate behavior consistent with the company's Code of Ethics and Conduct.
  • It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem.
  • Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; years of experience may be substituted for a degree.
  • 3+ years of mechanical assembly experience required.
  • Must have ability to regularly utilize a microscope and small hand tools including tweezers, cutters, and pliers for extended periods of time.
  • Good hand eye coordination and high attention to detail is needed.
  • Must have working knowledge of computer basic skills.
  • Must be able to distinguish and identify colors as well as judge distances and spatial relationships with or without corrective lenses.
  • Must be able to read, write, and verbally effectively communicate in the business language (English).

Pay may range from $20.00 to $23.00 hourly
The pay range above represents annual base salary only. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as your job level, geographic location, date of hire, experience, job-related knowledge and skills, and education in conjunction with market and business considerations.
Base salary is one component of your total rewards package. You may be eligible for long-term incentives, potential discretionary bonuses, and the ability to purchase company stock at a discounted rate through the Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP). OSI also offers comprehensive benefits including various options for health plans, access to 401(k) retirement plan, health savings account, disability insurance, life insurance, AD&D insurance, leave of absence programs and an array of voluntary benefits. In addition, paid time off is offered to be used for vacation, holidays, bereavement, and jury duty. Full-Time salaried employees are entitled to flexible time-off.
