This role collaborates closely with marketing, development, and support teams to foster meaningful engagement, build lasting relationships, and amplify excitement across a global audience.
The ideal candidate is proactive, creative, and deeply attuned to the dynamics of gaming communities. They bring a proven track record of leading large-scale community initiatives within the entertainment or gaming industry.
Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the development and evolution of communication strategies and community channels, with a focus on continuous improvement

  • Serve as a public-facing representative for Star Citizen and Squadron 42, communicating on behalf of the brand across multiple channels and at events

  • Collaborate with the content, video, and social media teams to align messaging and maximize reach

  • Create engaging content and experiences such as editorial posts, contests, and events to build community loyalty and foster positive sentiment

  • Design and execute community engagement opportunities for both in-person and online events

  • Manage prize and product fulfillment for community contests, tournaments, and giveaways

  • Identify, nurture, and engage passionate community advocates for Star Citizen and Squadron 42

  • Monitor community sentiment, trends, and emerging issues across social and owned platforms, providing timely insights to internal teams

  • Gather and communicate actionable community feedback to game development teams, representing player sentiment, concerns, and suggestions

Requirements:
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Familiarity with common community platforms (e.g., Discord, Reddit, Zendesk, forums, social media tools)

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in community or brand communications, including forum moderation and audience engagement

  • Strong strategic thinking, leadership, and communication skills

  • Willingness and ability to travel (including internationally) and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed

Pluses:
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

  • Experience in online game or MMO development, community management, and/or marketing

  • Training and/or experience in project management

  • Genuine passion for sci-fi games and immersive gaming communities
