Job description

We are currently looking for a Staff Accountant. The right candidate will be a positive and enthusiastic team-player with great communication skills, reliability, and ability to multitask.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Reconcile bank accounts monthly
  • Maintain and reconcile various subledgers monthly
  • Prepare journal entries and various wires/deposits for approval daily
  • Prepare and/or assist with biweekly draw inspections and funding
  • Assist in preparing interim and year-end schedules for external audits
  • Assist with wiring instructions for buyers and recording incoming buyer funds
  • Assist with preparation of loan and lot documents
  • Reconcile company credit cards 
  • Investigate irregularities as needed
  • Perform ad hoc reporting and projects
  • Other duties may be assigned

Required Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of related experience and/or training in accounting/bookkeeping
  • If no experience, then a bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related.
  • MUST be extremely detail oriented.
  • MUST be able to multi-task and keep all tasks moving forward at the same time.
  • MUST be a critical thinker and problem solver.
  • Ability to accurately process and record a large volume of numerical data.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written/oral form.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and strong knowledge of Excel.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Knowledge of general accounting functions.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

CPA not required.

$60,000 - $70,000 annually, commensurate with experience
