JOB SUMMARY:

Our growing Ethos IT Team is seeking a full-time Technical Product Owner (REMOTE) to define, manage, and deliver product requirements within an AI-first, spec-driven development environment. This role partners closely with the Product Director and cross-functional teams to translate business needs into clear, scalable technical solutions while supporting delivery across the full Agile lifecycle.

Our ideal candidate is a seasoned Product Owner with strong problem‑solving and strategic planning capabilities, able to deliver simple, scalable solutions with a clear focus on user experience and system design. They communicate effectively across technical and business stakeholders, translating complex concepts into actionable requirements while aligning teams around priorities and outcomes. With a solid technical foundation and hands‑on experience in modern, cloud-based and AI‑supported development environments, they bring a growth mindset and continuously seek opportunities to improve product delivery and innovation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Product Strategy & Alignment – Collaborate with Product Director to align initiatives with broader product roadmap and priorities.
  • Requirements Gathering – Translate business and technical needs into structured, implementation-ready specifications.
  • Spec-Driven Development – Own lifecycle of specifications, including creation, refinement, and validation using tools like Kiro.
  • User Story Development – Create clear, scalable user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Cross-Functional Support – Partner with Development and QA to clarify requirements and ensure alignment through delivery.
  • Backlog Management – Prioritize backlog balancing business value, technical complexity, and roadmap goals.
  • Product Design Advocacy – Promote simple, intuitive, and scalable product and system designs.
  • Collaboration – Work across distributed teams with high responsiveness during business hours.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. Relevant experience may be a substitute for formal education.

Experience / Skills:

  • Minimum of 4+ years of translating business needs into product requirements and scalable solutions, translating business needs into product requirements and scalable solutions (required).
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment, actively participating in backlog refinement, sprint planning, and delivery, with accountability for product clarity and readiness (required).
  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience working closely with software development teams (required).
  • Hands‑on experience with development and delivery tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, GitHub, or similar platforms, including managing work items, delivery flow, and dependencies.
  • Experience using Kiro for spec‑driven development, including maintaining high‑quality specifications, locking requirements appropriately, and supporting downstream generation and implementation workflows (required).
  • Prior experience working with AWS‑based cloud solutions and AI capabilities, including collaborating on or guiding products that leverage cloud services and agentic AI (required).

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This role is 100% remote and requires working hours between 8:00AM to 5:00PM EST or CST. However, there might be occasional exposure to overtime or working more than 8 hours in a day due to project demands.
