Title: IT Product Owner
Duration: 6 months
Location: New York, NY or Atlanta, GA(hybrid role, local presence occasionally needed )

Role Overview

The IT Product Owner (PO) acts as the voice of the customer and business, translating business needs into clear, prioritized technology requirements and ensuring delivery of high-value solutions through Agile/Scrum teams. The PO owns the product backlog, partners closely with business and technology stakeholders, and ensures alignment between business objectives, data strategy, and system delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and manage the product backlog, including prioritization, refinement, and readiness for sprint planning
  • Translate business needs into user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria
  • Act as the primary liaison between business and technology teams
  • Define and communicate product vision, roadmap, and sprint goals
  • Participate in and lead Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, backlog grooming, reviews)
  • Collaborate with developers, QA, and operations to ensure successful delivery and quality outcomes
  • Support UAT and testing, including coordination and validation of business
  • Manage dependencies, risks, and trade-offs across multiple workstreams
Required Skills & Experience
  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree or equivalent experience in computer science, finance, business administration or related field. Graduate degree is a plus.
  • 10 years of professional experience in technology, business analysis within the investment management business.
  • 5 years of product owner experience.
  • Experience in the Investment Management industry.
  • 2-3 years of experience with Factset and Sylvan applications.
  • Experience with Portfolio Performance, Security Level Performance, Security Level Attribution.
  • Good experience in Product Ownership within Agile / Scrum environments
  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into technical deliverables
  • Experience working with investment management data and platforms, such as:
    • IBOR / performance / security master data
    • Vendors like FactSet, Bloomberg, Aladdin, State Street, MSCI
  • Proven backlog management, prioritization, and stakeholder communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred / Emerging Skills
  • Experience with AI-enabled workflows, automation, and intelligent decision support
  • Familiarity with GitHub Copilot / Microsoft Copilot usage in delivery or analysis
  • Data-driven mindset with interest in AI/ML-assisted product design.
