Job description

Summary
Under the supervision of the principal, or other supervisor, the teacher assistant assists the teacher with the conduct of a class. The assistance takes a variety of forms in supporting refugee students in and out of the classroom with general course work and connecting them to community resources. The assitant will work closely with family advocates to help bridge the school to family partnership.

3.5 hrs p/day // 9 months // Salary Grade 3 - $17.24 per hour (Support Salary Table 2026-27)
GENERAL FUNCTION:
Under the supervision of the principal, or other supervisor, the teacher assistant assists the teacher with the conduct of a class. The assistance takes a variety of forms, such as preparing class materials, correcting and recording assignments, and a wide variety of other services.
QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS:
1. High school graduation or equivalent education and/or experience.
2. The equivalent of two years (48 semester hours) full-time education at an institution of higher education; or an associate's degree; or the ability to pass a Utah State Office of Education approved Para-Professional Test.
3. Interpersonal and communication skills.
4. Secretarial/clerical skills, including ability to operate a computer may be required.
