In summary, a Full Time Recording Studio refers to a workplace or employment status within a recording environment, while a Recording Engineer is a professional responsible for capturing and producing audio. The roles are interconnected, with the engineer working within a recording studio setting, often as a full-time employee.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Recording Studio Engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Recording Studio Engineer, you need expertise in audio engineering, acoustics, and music production, often backed by a relevant degree or certification. Familiarity with digital audio workstations (DAWs) like Pro Tools, Logic Pro, and audio hardware is typically required. Strong attention to detail, creativity, and communication skills help in collaborating effectively with artists and producers. These skills are crucial for delivering high-quality sound recordings and ensuring client satisfaction in a competitive industry.

What is a full time recording studio?

A full time recording studio is a professional facility dedicated to audio recording, mixing, and production, operating as its primary business. These studios are staffed by engineers, producers, and other personnel who work regular hours, providing a range of services such as music recording, voice-over work, and sound editing. Full time studios typically feature high-quality equipment, acoustically treated rooms, and the capability to handle projects for musicians, podcasters, advertisers, and filmmakers. By operating full time, these studios offer consistent availability and a professional environment for clients. Many artists and media professionals rely on full time studios to ensure their audio projects meet industry standards.

What are some common challenges faced when working full-time in a recording studio?

Working full-time in a recording studio often involves balancing multiple projects, meeting tight deadlines, and adapting to the creative needs of various clients. Engineers and producers must frequently collaborate with artists, manage technical equipment, and troubleshoot unexpected issues during sessions. The workload can be unpredictable, with periods of long hours, especially when working on large projects or with high-profile clients. However, these challenges also provide valuable opportunities to develop technical expertise, expand your professional network, and advance within the music industry.

Job description

SWTHZ Studio Lead Full-Time | Newport Beach, CA & Red Hill (Tustin/Santa Ana), CA

About the Opportunity

SWTHZ is hiring Studio Leads for two Orange County locations — an established studio in Newport Beach and a brand new location opening next month in the Red Hill corridor.

The Studio Lead will be responsible for running daily operations, leading and developing a team of Sales Associates, delivering an unmatched member experience, and driving the numbers that grow the business.

Whether you're stepping into an established studio or helping launch something from the ground up, this is a hands-on floor leadership role that requires strong sales coaching ability, sharp attention to operational detail, and a genuine passion for wellness and the people it transforms.

Open Locations

  • Newport Beach, CA
  • Red Hill — Tustin/Santa Ana, CA (opening next month)

Candidates will be considered for the location that best fits their experience, availability, and proximity.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Growth

  • Convert intro sessions into memberships and coach the team to do the same
  • Build relationships that turn first-time visitors into long-term members who refer their friends
  • Drive intro-to-member conversion, new membership sales, and retention metrics
  • Support team outreach and follow-up efforts through CRM and direct member engagement
  • Review performance targets weekly and adjust strategy accordingly

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Sales Associates
  • Run daily huddles and set the tone for energy, service, and accountability
  • Hold the team to a clear standard with care and consistency
  • Foster a warm, ambitious team culture built around shared wins

Operational Excellence

  • Walk every suite before a member uses it — catch issues before clients see them
  • Manage supplies, scheduling, and the operational details that define a luxury experience
  • Uphold SWTHZ brand standards and studio presentation at all times
  • Maintain cleanliness, equipment uptime, and audit scores
  • Be present during peak hours to provide leadership and floor support

Member Experience

  • Deliver an unmatched experience at every touchpoint
  • Handle member concerns promptly and professionally
  • Build genuine relationships that drive retention and referrals
  • Represent the SWTHZ brand with warmth, professionalism, and authentic enthusiasm

Key Performance Expectations

This is a KPI-driven role. You will be measured on:

  • Intro-to-member conversion rate
  • New memberships sold
  • Member retention
  • Team performance and engagement
  • Studio operational standards including cleanliness, uptime, and audit scores

Targets are clear, dashboards are transparent, and performance is reviewed with you — not at you.

Key Skills & Abilities

People Leadership: Proven ability to lead a team, set a standard, and make it better Sales Coaching: Comfortable with sales conversations and a track record of hitting goals Operational Detail: Sharp attention to the small stuff that separates a luxury studio from an average one Calm Under Pressure: Handles a busy floor, demanding members, and equipment issues without rattling Genuine Wellness Interest: Doesn't need to be a contrast therapy expert — just has to actually care

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience leading a team in any service environment — fitness, retail, hospitality, F&B, or beauty all transfer well
  • Comfort with sales conversations and a history of hitting performance targets
  • Strong attention to detail and operational follow-through
  • Availability for evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays — schedules are predictable, but flexibility is non-negotiable
  • Familiarity with Mindbody or AXLE a plus, but not required — full training provided
  • Genuine interest in wellness and how it impacts people

Desired Traits

  • Warm, ambitious, and team-oriented
  • High energy with a hands-on, floor-first mindset
  • Calm and composed when the studio gets busy
  • Takes ownership of results without being told twice
  • Growth-oriented and excited about what comes next

Compensation & Benefits

Pay: $24–$26/hour based on experience Bonus: Monthly performance bonuses for exceeding targets Commission: Commission on membership and pack sales Membership: Free SWTHZ membership ($289/month value) — unlimited infrared sauna, cold plunge, and vitamin C shower access Growth: The franchisee owns the entire Orange County territory with multiple studios open and more on the way — promotion from within is the standard, not the exception

What Success Looks Like

The Studio Lead runs a tight, high-performing operation, builds a team that converts and retains members at a high rate, and delivers the kind of luxury wellness experience that keeps members coming back and sending their friends.

About SWTHZ

Built for recovery, sleep, and overall wellbeing, SWTHZ delivers a luxury wellness experience designed to help members feel their best. Both open roles are part of a growing Orange County footprint under an owner committed to building the brand across the entire market.
