This role requires someone who can manage order information accurately, communicate clearly across departments, and help keep production schedules, documentation, and customer expectations aligned.

  • Planning Discipline – Can organize priorities, track due dates, monitor open orders, and help identify potential scheduling or resource issues before they become larger problems.
  • Accuracy and Follow-Through – Takes pride in entering and maintaining clean order information, processing documentation correctly, and following tasks through to completion.
  • ERP and Data Comfort – Is comfortable working in systems, learning ERP tools, reviewing order details, and using information to support production planning decisions.
  • Calm Problem Solving – Can manage changing priorities, resource constraints, past-due orders, and production questions with professionalism and a solutions-oriented approach.



Position Summary

The Production Planner helps keep customer orders, production schedules, materials, labor availability, and documentation aligned within HCI’s MCDS manufacturing division. This role reviews incoming orders, maintains accurate ERP information, supports planned fulfillment dates, and helps identify scheduling or resource issues before they disrupt production.


The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working in ERP systems, and able to communicate clearly with Production, Purchasing, Inventory, Quality, and Customer Support.


Key Responsibilities

  • Reviews incoming orders and evaluates available parts and labor using ERP system and other provided tools.
  • Creates a planned fulfillment date for new orders and submits to Production Manager for review.
  • Processes orders in ERP system after review and approval of Production Manager.
  • Works closely with Buyer and Production Manager to identify any resource shortages.
  • Monitors open order due dates and notifies Production Manager of potential problems.
  • Reviews past due orders with Production Manager to prevent future problems.
  • Maintains accurate order information in ERP system.
  • Provides up to date order information to co-workers and customers as necessary.
  • Participates in forecasting of future resource requirements.
  • Prints and distributes approved production documentation.
  • Reviews for accuracy and processes finished Quality Control documents.
  • Collaborates and coordinates with all departments, including inbound, inventory control, customer support, and all other necessary departments.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and one to three years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient on Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to learn and become proficient on TrulinX ERP Systems.
  • Must be able to work independently and with little direct supervision.
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow.

This role is located at our production facility in Modesto, California.
