Job description

ABOUT LIVIC CIVIL

Imagine coming to work each day, excited to tackle challenges alongside a team that’s just as driven and passionate as you are. We’re LIVIC Civil—a tight-knit firm with a mission to guide our clients to success, whether through civil engineering, land development, traffic and transportation engineering, GIS, survey, or landscape design. With several of our biggest projects yet on the horizon, we’re looking for someone ready to grow with us and help make a lasting impact.

This role isn’t for everyone. If you:

  • Settle for “good enough,”
  • Avoid taking on new challenges,
  • Struggle with constructive feedback, or
  • Prefer working solo instead of on a team,

then this might not be the right fit. But if you’re a fast learner, adaptable, and eager to research, problem-solve, and contribute to something bigger, you may be exactly who we’re looking for.
WHO WE ARE

LIVIC Civil is Not Your Ordinary Civil Engineering Firm. Since our founding in 2017, we’ve partnered with clients who share our values of integrity, hard work, and responsiveness, delivering projects that go beyond expectations. As a small, agile firm, we’re committed to evolving quickly, achieving exceptional results that set us apart.

JOB SUMMARY

LIVIC Civil is expanding, and we’re looking for a Roadway Design Engineer to play a key role in our growing transportation department! This full-time position performs engineering design and analysis for transportation projects and supports the development of PS&E deliverables. This role applies sound engineering judgement, coordinates design tasks across disciplines, and supports QA/QC to help ensure compliance with agency standards and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform roadway design tasks and technical evaluations under applicable standards.
  • Support geometric design elements and coordinate plan development with designers.
  • Participate in QA/QC and design review comment resolution.
  • Support preparation of technical documentation, exhibits, and reports.
  • Coordinate with PMs/engineers to meet project milestones.

PATHWAYS FOR GROWTH

At LIVIC, we value ambition and the unique strengths each team member brings. This role can evolve into various exciting paths over time based on your interests, talents, and drive. Possible career growth paths include:

  • Project Management Roles – Leading projects from inception to completion.
  • Development Coordinator Roles – Focusing on business growth and client partnerships.

This position is ideal for someone who sees themselves growing into a future leader, whether in project management, operations, marketing, or client development.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or closely related)
    • 4+ years of progressive roadway/transportation design experience.
    • Proficiency with Civil 3D and/or OpenRoads Designer (ORD).
    • Knowledge of DOT/municipal standards and PS&E deliverables.
    • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Preferred:
    • PE license (Pennsylvania or the ability to obtain within 6 months)
    • EIT
    • PennDOT project experience
    • Travel to other offices as needed

*An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered (including an Associate degree with additional relevant experience); EIT required for non-BS paths.
