The Electrician Power Systems is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the CFTOD Utility Plants’ electrical systems. The field service position may include work from elevated platforms and confined spaces throughout the Walt Disney World Parks and Resort property.
Responsibilities :
Safely operate electric utility power distribution protection and industrial electrical systems. Provide emergency response and service restoration in industrial electrical system outage conditions. Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on electric utility transmission and distribution control, metering, and industrial electrical systems.
Basic Qualifications :
  • Valid Florida driver’s license
  • Must be a qualified Journeyman Electrician with a minimum of 5 years experience in an industrial and/or utility environment
  • Experience in power distribution, generation systems and associated controls
  • Understanding of OSHA and industry standard lock-out tag-out safety procedures
  • Ability to pass a role-specific, technical knowledge-based written assessment and interview
  • Ability to read electrical schematics
  • Possess the ability to interpret blueprints
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency in standard office software programs and mobile electronic devices

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in industry standard utility system and industrial application protective relaying systems and principles
  • Experience in industrial motor control including variable frequency drives
  • Experience troubleshooting and calibrating power distribution systems, and protection systems and devices

Preferred Education :
  • An Associates degree in an engineering related field is desired
