At Disney Experiences Technology, our team creates world-class immersive digital experiences for the Company's premier vacation brands including Disney's Parks & Resorts worldwide, Disney Cruise Line, Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa, and Disney Vacation Club. We are responsible for the end-to-end digital and physical Guest experience for all technology & digital-led initiatives across the Attractions & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Resorts & Transportation and Merchandise lines of business as well as other initiatives including MyDisneyExperience and Hey, Disney!

This role sits in the US Parks & Resorts organization within Disney Experience Technology and works closely with other site reliability engineers, application delivery teams, and systems engineers from across the company.

The Principal Site Reliability Engineer will report to the Sr. Manager, Systems Engineering.

About The Role & Team:

  • The Edge Security team supports more than 4000 teams worldwide supporting new product launches, brands announcements, key events, and ongoing Edge Security
  • Our team is dispersed over multiple locations to allow for support of our worldwide partners and brands.
  • Work closely with our Global Information Security teams to ensure compliance with corporate standards, fulfilment of audit requests, and alignment of Disney Experiences brands to Disney Security standards.
What You'll Do:
  • Lead and impact the DevOps culture among the larger Disney Experiences organization while mentoring others on the effective use of the security culture to drive observability
  • Elevate and lead the design, build, and support of products platforms
  • Propel and drive development pipelines, automate infrastructure and operations, create telemetry for monitoring, engineer high reliability and reinforce best practices to secure company data
  • Expertise in systems administration skills Akamai, and must have extensive experience with web and mobile technologies.
  • Establish administration requirements in Akamai and bring knowledge to operational excellence and application stability, security, performance, and capacity management, as well as documentation
  • Engage in estimation and planning across the organization, voicing recommendations and solutions from a technical perspective
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate emerging technologies within your area of expertise to drive informed decision-making and recommendations
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum 10 years of related work experience
  • Expertise in defining and implementing industry-leading observability strategies across diverse and highly complex distributed systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability
  • Comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience with industry standard security tools and approaches driving innovation and setting industry benchmarks
  • Mastery in architecting and managing highly available, scalable, and automated security solutions contributing to the organization's strategic objectives and competitive advantage
  • Expert in using AI to optimize system reliability through advanced analytics and prescriptive recommendations
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities, to ensure effective growth and development of team
  • A visionary in Edge Strategy who motivates teams to challenge the status quo, ensuring our defense posture evolves faster than the tools used by attackers.
  • An advocate for a diverse and inclusive culture that encourages innovation and ensures every team member feels a sense of belonging
  • Mastery in architecting and automating "Defensive Infrastructure"- highly available, scalable security solutions that protect the origin while maintaining the zero-latency requirements of a world-class SRE organization
  • Authority in Akamai Bot Manager, Kona Site Defender, and WAF demonstrating deep expertise and knowledge in the field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive Experience with high demand releases and brands
  • PCI audit and standards experience
Required Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience
