Full Time Manufacturing roles encompass a broad range of production jobs in factories, often requiring general skills and certifications. Full Time Assembly Line Workers focus specifically on assembling products on production lines, typically involving repetitive tasks. Both roles operate in similar environments and are vital to manufacturing industries, but Full Time Manufacturing offers a wider scope of responsibilities.

What are some common challenges faced in a full-time manufacturing role and how can they be managed?

Full-time manufacturing roles often involve working in fast-paced environments where meeting production targets and maintaining quality standards is essential. Common challenges include adapting to changing production schedules, repetitive tasks, and operating complex machinery safely. To manage these challenges, employees are encouraged to follow established safety protocols, communicate regularly with team members, and participate in continuous training programs. Building strong teamwork skills and staying proactive about learning new processes can help individuals thrive and advance within the manufacturing sector.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Full Time Manufacturing Worker, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Full Time Manufacturing Worker, you typically need a high school diploma or equivalent, good manual dexterity, attention to detail, and an understanding of production processes. Familiarity with manufacturing equipment, safety procedures, and sometimes certifications like OSHA or forklift operation are often required. Strong teamwork, reliability, and effective communication help individuals excel in fast-paced manufacturing environments. These skills ensure efficient, safe, and consistent production output, which is critical for meeting company goals and maintaining workplace safety.

What are full time manufacturing jobs?

Full time manufacturing jobs are positions in factories or production facilities where employees work standard hours, usually 35-40 hours per week, to produce goods or components. These roles can include machine operators, assemblers, quality inspectors, or maintenance technicians. Full time manufacturing jobs often offer benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plans, and may involve shift work, depending on the company's schedule. The work typically involves following safety procedures, meeting production targets, and maintaining equipment as needed.

Job description

The Company
Throne is a high-growth Series B startup on a mission to meaningfully expand access to clean and delightful bathrooms, and they're growing fast. With flagship customers like the District of Columbia, Caltrain, and LA Metro, they're on track to more than 2x ARR this year, making this a pivotal moment for the brand.
Role Summary
Throne is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to help scale and optimize our in-house production operations in Elkhart, Indiana. This is a highly collaborative, high-impact role focused on improving manufacturing processes, solving production challenges in real time, and helping lead the transition toward more vertically integrated manufacturing over the next 6-12 months.
This position is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys solving ambiguous problems, and wants to play a foundational role in building scalable production systems from the ground up. You'll partner closely with production leadership, technicians, and company founders to improve quality, efficiency, documentation, tooling, and manufacturability across our products.
The annual salary for this position is estimated at $80,000 - $135,000. Actual compensation will depend on a candidate's applicable experience and skills. This role is also eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including equity.
Core Responsibilities
Mechanical Design & Product Development
  • Design and improve tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing processes that enable consistent, repeatable builds across production lines
  • Create and maintain clear production documentation, assembly instructions, SOPs, and process workflows for technicians
  • Partner closely with production, purchasing, and engineering teams to troubleshoot manufacturing issues and keep production moving efficiently
  • Drive hands-on problem solving when parts, vendors, or assemblies do not perform as expected
  • Support R&D-style initiatives focused on manufacturability, scalability, and product improvement
  • Evaluate new designs and processes with a "design for manufacturing" mindset to ensure solutions can scale efficiently
  • Identify opportunities to improve production quality, throughput, reliability, and operational efficiency
  • Collaborate daily with technicians and production leadership to implement continuous improvements across the facility
  • Serve as a key engineering presence within the manufacturing organization as the company continues bringing manufacturing operations further in-house

Ideal Candidate Profile
  • 3+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Plant Engineering, R&D Engineering, or a related function
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting capabilities
  • Experience working in manufacturing, production, hardware, automotive, RV, industrial equipment, electronics, or similar physical product environments
  • Ability to balance creative problem solving with practical, scalable manufacturing solutions
  • Comfortable operating in startup-style environments with evolving priorities and limited structure
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work cross-functionally across production, purchasing, and engineering teams
  • Highly motivated, quality-focused, and willing to take ownership of operational challenges from identification through resolution
  • Comfortable spending significant time on the production floor and working directly alongside technicians and operations teams
Benefits:
  • Medical Insurance, including plan options with 100% employer-paid premiums
  • Dental Insurance
  • Vision Insurance
  • Meaningful Series B Equity
  • 401(k) Plan
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and National Discounts
  • Paid Sick Leave
  • Short and Long-Term Disability Insurance
  • Life, Dependent Life, and AD&D Insurance
  • Employer-Paid Basic Life Insurance
  • Worker's Compensation Coverage
  • Legal Insurance

Benefits offered to full-time and part-time employees may vary by State.
