JOB DESCRIPTION:
General:
Responsible for assembling products and components on a production line while ensuring accuracy, quality, and efficiency. This role requires the use of various tools and equipment to fasten, fit, or cut parts in accordance with specific instructions and blueprints. Workers are expected to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while operating in a fast-paced production setting. The position involves standing for extended periods and performing frequent lifting of heavy parts, with the assistance of overhead hoist lift equipment at designated stations.
Strong attention to detail is essential to perform quality inspections and accurately complete required paperwork and documentation. Workers will be cross trained on multiple workstations, with the first day consisting of observational training. This position requires collaboration with team members to maintain production flow and meet daily targets.

Compressor Assembly Workstation:

• EXP Line :

Employees must be able to read and interpret blueprints and shop orders to determine the correct parts required and the proper assembly process. At each assigned station, employees are responsible for completing a first piece inspection sheet to ensure compressors are built to quality and specification standards.
Process Overview
Startup Station:

1. • Create and install the compressor nameplate
   • Press the bearing into the compressor case
   • Load the compressor case onto a pallet

Shaft Flange / End Cover Station:

1. • Install shaft flange and end cover components onto the compressor

Piston Installation Station:

1. • Install pistons
   • Tighten connecting rods (conrods)
   • Perform rotational torque procedures

Bottom Cover Installation:

1. • Install bottom cover components

Head Installation:

1. • Install compressor head

Test Stand:

1. • Perform required testing procedures prior to transferring the unit to paint preparation

Pre-Assembly Support Stations
In addition to the main assembly line, employees may work in designated prep areas that support production, including:

• Shaft and end cover preparation
• Piston and connecting rod preparation
• Head preparation
• Employees are expected to follow all safety, quality, and production standards while maintaining efficiency and accuracy throughout each stage of the process.

• ESP/BAC Line :

Employees must be able to read and interpret blueprints and shop orders to identify the correct parts and understand proper assembly procedures. At each station, employees are responsible for completing a first piece inspection sheet to verify that compressors are built accurately and meet quality standards.
Assembly Line Process
Startup Station:

• Paint Line :

Employees must be able to read and interpret blueprints and shop orders to ensure the correct parts are used and assembled properly prior to painting. At each station, employees are required to complete a first piece inspection sheet to verify that compressors meet quality and specification standards. Employees must also review the shop order and inspection documentation to confirm the correct paint color before beginning the painting process.
Painting and Finishing Duties:

• • Apply paint to compressors according to specifications
  • Ensure proper coverage, quality, and finish standards are met
  • Maintain and operate the paint booth in a safe and efficient manner
  • Perform routine maintenance, including paint booth filter changes
  • Clean and maintain paint guns and related equipment

Work Area Maintenance:

• • Perform general housekeeping in accordance with 5S standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Employees are expected to follow all safety, quality, and production guidelines while maintaining efficiency and attention to detail throughout the process.

• Compressor Pack :

Employees must be able to read and interpret blueprints and shop orders to determine correct components, packaging requirements, and assembly verification. At each station, employees are responsible for completing a first piece inspection sheet to ensure compressors are built and packaged according to quality and specification standards. Employees will also use a computer system to enter information from the shop order and inspection sheet to identify the appropriate box type, labeling, and required kits for each complete compressor.
Material Handling:

• • Safely remove completed compressors from the paint line using an overhead hoist

Pack-Out Process Options:

• • 1. Individual Pack-Out:
    • Place completed compressor onto the pack-out line
    • Package each unit in the appropriate box
    • Add required kits (gasket kits and plug kits) to each box
    • Move packaged unit through:
    • Automatic taper
    • Bander
    • Labeling system
    • Use an overhead hoist to place finished boxes onto pallets
  • 2. Bulk Pack-Out:
    • Use an overhead hoist to lift completed compressors
    • Place units directly into a half-pallet bulk container for shipment

Additional Expectations:

• • Ensure all packaging meets quality and customer requirements
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with company standards
  • Follow all safety procedures when operating hoists and equipment
• Test Stand :

As specified at the EXP Line workstation, all compressors must be tested following assembly and prior to transfer to the paint line to ensure they are functioning properly and meet quality standards. The operator is responsible for verifying the correct unit by scanning the shop order barcode. Once scanned, the system will display the required test stand setup specific to the compressor model.
Testing Procedure:

• • Scan the shop order barcode to verify the unit and retrieve test specifications
  • Review and set up the test stand according to the system instructions
  • Ensure all connections and configurations are properly in place
  • Operate the test stand to perform the required testing sequence

Quality and Compliance:

• • Confirm the compressor meets all operational and quality requirements before release
  • Follow all safety protocols while operating testing equipment
  • Accurately complete any required documentation or system entries related to testing
  • Employees are expected to maintain attention to detail and adhere to all quality, safety, and production standards throughout the testing process.

Tools:
Staple gun, utility knives, RF scanner computer/software, printers, paint mask, paint solvent, pallet jack, gages, hand tools, torque wrenches, air powered tools, mallet, and hydraulic press.
Protective Personal Equipment:
Eye protection, steel toe boots, anti-fatigue mats, ear plugs, and anti-cut gloves.
Environment:
The work environment is climate-controlled but can be noisy, with frequent heavy forklift traffic. Workers work collaboratively with others to ensure production is maintained at the required pace throughout the shift.
