Description:

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Manufacturing Associate – Level I role is responsible for beginner level production order matching to the staged product and move the product to their workstation, lifting, weighing, counting and utilizing a variety of production equipment to assemble, package and label material.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assemble items as instructed by the Production Supervisor or Production Team Leader(s)
  • Operate button press or sewing machinery used in the production process or assist machine operators in process
  • Complete tasks safely and efficiently with the highest level of quality in mind
  • Report productivity back to the Production Associate – Level III (Team Lead)
  • Ensure that quality product is being produced at the standard rate while minimizing the amount of scrap and down time produced
  • Keep work areas clean and organized
  • Follow all safety rules and quality standards
  • Report safety hazards and incidents to the supervisor immediately
  • Create cartons, package product and label cartons
  • Handle any additional tasks as may be assigned


Requirements:

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent (preferred)

Experience

  • Previous light or heavy manufacturing related experience (preferred)
  • Experience with industrial sewing, upholstery covering, fabric cutting, repackaging or Semi and Fully Automatic setting machines (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to chest level with or without an accommodation
  • Bending, kneeling and finger dexterity is required
  • Ability to interpret product drawings and a basic understanding of the imperial and metric system
  • Ability to measure components using tape measures, calipers and angle gauges (ability to read a ruler and add time)
  • Ability to read a production order (PO) form and pick tickets for successful work completion
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to multitask and effectively prioritize tasks.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the capability to clearly communicate and articulate information to team members, customers, and vendors with differing communication styles.
