The Opportunity:

Join Solomon Groupโ€™s Live Events team creating high profile one-of-a-kind events and experiences. Whether planning and executing exceptional custom brand activations or large-scale fan events, the team provides innovative productions, best-in-class consumer engagement, and world class fan experiences. Solomon Group Live Events team is responsible for all aspects of the live events, including concepting and ideation, budgeting, production and operations, activation execution, and fulfilling on-air look-ins and integrations. The group also works closely with sponsors and activation agencies to ensure seamless partner integration into the events. In the past year, the team has produced events, fan experiences, and activations at NCAA Menโ€™s and Womenโ€™s Final Four, Super Bowl, World Cup, NFL Draft, College Football Playoff, NHL Winter Classic, MLB All Star, and Essence Festival.

One of the positionโ€™s primary responsibilities will be serving as the Producer / Event Manager for the NCAA Menโ€™s Final Four Fan Fest, the premier destination for fans of all ages to experience the excitement of Menโ€™s Final Four with 400,000 sq feet of basketball courts, sponsored activities, autograph signings, team merchandise, concessions, pep rallies and giveaways throughout the weekend. The Producer / Event Manager will lead the event team on a day-to-day basis and will work closely with the production and sponsorship teams on all aspects of the event.

The position will also provide critical support across other Solomon Group events by serving as a lead producer for multiple other events and/or activations annually and by supporting team members on other projects.

Candidates for this position should be self-motivated, detailed-oriented, extremely organized, and have the ability to multitask and ask questions when needed. This position also requires excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to build client-facing decks, present at meetings, and lead calls. Applicants should be comfortable being on video for virtual meetings, respond promptly to correspondence, and provide regular updates to key stakeholders on assigned projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Producer / Event Manager will join an experienced event execution team and be responsible for both leading events and being a supporting member of the team.
  • As the Event Manager of the NCAA Menโ€™s Final Four Fan Fest, this position is responsible for leading the day-to-day management of the event. They will lead show production, operations, and budget management.
  • Primary responsibilities include oversight of operations, audio/visual, dรฉcor, ticketing and security vendors, and working closely with the other members of the event team on all sponsor management, graphics, turnkey activations, and marketing of the event. They will be responsible for keeping event status reports, production schedules, timelines, and other event documents. They will develop the event budget in conjunction with the Vice President / Executive Producer, Live Events and will lead the management and reconciliation of event finances.
  • This position requires the individual to be a leader, managing multiple external and internal stakeholders while having a team-player mindset. Excellent communication skills are a must, and presenting in meetings, building decks, and leading calls is crucial to the success of the position. The candidate must be extremely detail-oriented and organized, be able to multitask, be resourceful, self-directed, motivated, and have the confidence to ask questions when needed.
  • The Manager will be asked to lead other Fan Events and Activations from various clients within the Solomon Group portfolio. In these roles they will work closely with clients and venues on event logistics, will manage vendors, provide oversight of event layouts, will work with vendors on coordination of security and crowd management, and will laisse with participating sponsors and their agencies. Additionally, budget development, tracking and reconciliation as well as management of timelines and event status reports will be the responsibility of this position.
  • Participate in team brainstorming and ideation sessions for new business and RFP responses. Assist team members with ideating, research and executing activations for other projects.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-4 years of event management and activation experience
  • 2 โ€“ 3 years of client management and/or brand management experience
  • Proven experience executing large-scale events and activations in excess of $2-3M, including vendor management and budget management
  • Extensive work directly with sponsors, venues, contractors, and vendors
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Experience building presentations and presenting in a group setting
  • Ability to multitask and be highly productive in a fast-paced environment
  • Excel in a dynamic team, and can communicate effectively to a variety of stakeholders
  • Understanding of event production and operations, including scheduling and multifaceted nature of large-scale events
  • Proven experience forecasting, managing and reconciling program budgets
  • Strong work ethic and an ability to quickly learn new skills and adapt to a variety of event environments
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including MS Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 20 โ€“ 30% of the year, including weekend and holidays
