SEEKING OUTSTANDING CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATOR

FLIPPO Construction Company, Inc. is seeking an experienced Construction ESTIMATOR to join our team with underground utilities (wet and/or dry) experience. We have streamlined our hiring process, and we promise a fast and efficient hiring experience. Don't delay-apply today!!

HEAVY CIVIL CONSTRUCTION EXPERIENCE (UNDERGROUND UTILITIES-wet/dry)

YOU:

  • Collaborate with all project stakeholders when determining projected time frames, labor needs, materials, budgets and potential setbacks.
  • Review project plans and specifications.
  • Estimate crew cost including number and class of people, equipment items, and other daily expenses.
  • Estimate production costs.
  • Negotiate with material suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Flag and point out, to the Chief Estimator, costs that are believed risks.
  • Review project estimate with the Chief Estimator.
  • Complete and review the bid documents.
  • Submit bid documents within the deadline requirements.
  • Prepare bid turnover information, contract bond order form, correct bid to reflect last minute price changes.
  • Assume lead role in job turnover to Superintendent and project management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management along with a minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a fulltime Estimator in heavy civil construction/underground utilities (wet and/or dry) OR substantial experience as a fulltime Estimator in heavy civil construction/underground wet/dry utilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (at this level, grammar/spelling do count).
  • Must take pride in your Organization and Time Management skill sets.
  • Computer savvy (Outlook, MS Word, Excel, PP): Experience with HCSS/Heavy Bid software.
  • Self-starter, accountability, and positive can-do attitude is necessary for fit.
  • Must have reliable transportation. Must have a valid driver's license and be able to meet company's driving record requirements.
  • Candidates must successfully pass a background check and drug test as part of the hiring process.
