Job description

Chief Program Officer
NYC / Central Jersey / Monsey, NY
$250,000 - $300,000
Our client is a highly respected nonprofit human services organization seeking a Chief Program Officer to join its executive leadership team. This is a peer-to-COO role with direct reporting to the CEO - ideal for a seasoned nonprofit leader ready to operate at the highest level.
Reponsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee all program operations across multiple regions including NYC, Central Jersey, and Monsey, NY
  • Directly manage a team of 5 Regional Managers, driving accountability, performance, and culture
  • Serve as a key strategic partner to the CEO and COO on organizational growth and program direction
  • Ensure program quality, compliance, and outcomes across all service lines
  • Travel regularly between NYC, Central Jersey, and Monsey to maintain strong regional presence
  • Represent the organization with external partners, funders, and community stakeholders
  • Build scalable systems and processes to support continued programmatic expansion
Qualifications:
  • Senior leadership experience in the nonprofit / human services sector
  • Track record managing regional teams and complex program portfolios
  • Deep understanding of nonprofit operations, compliance, and service delivery
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Willingness to travel regularly across the tri-state area
Nice to Have
  • Experience in a peer-to-C-suite or executive leadership role
  • Background in Jewish communal organizations or community-based nonprofits
  • Experience managing through growth or organizational change
