Area Manager - Ride Operations

This is a Full-Time leadership position within the Operations division at Six Flags Fiesta Texas. Responsibilities:

As a Full-Time Area Manager – Operations at Six Flags Fiesta Texas, you will serve in a key leadership role within the Ride Operations department, responsible for driving safety, operational excellence, and an outstanding guest experience. While Ride Operations will be the primary area of responsibility, Area managers may be assigned to oversee Park Services, Front Gate, or Aquatics based on operational needs and relevant experience. You will lead daily operations, set the standard for performance and safety excellence, along with fostering an environment that is clean, welcoming, and fun.

Through strong communication, hands-on coaching, and consistent accountability, you will inspire your team to uphold the highest standards of safety and service. HOW YOU WILL DO IT: 

  • Oversee Day-to-Day Operations: You'll take charge of the day-to-day operations of the park's Rides Department, ensuring everything runs like a well-oiled machine.
  • Supervise Operational Activities: Directing operational activities within designated areas, you'll meet the needs of both guests and staff while maintaining a positive atmosphere.
  • Cultivate a High-Performance Team: Building a positive, high-performance team culture will be a priority, enhancing retention rates and fostering a sense of camaraderie among team members.
  • Provide Mentorship: Offering mentorship to all team members, you'll support their goal achievement through positive communication and coaching.
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures: Ensuring strict adherence to all standard operating procedures related to slides and attractions, you'll adapt procedures as ride operations evolve.
  • Engage in Advanced Planning: Advanced planning will be key to effectively managing volume, sales, and throughput in all areas, optimizing the guest experience.
  • Drive Performance Enhancements: Developing action plans and analyzing data/trends, you'll drive ongoing performance enhancements and reduce incidents.
  • Maintain Compliance: You'll maintain compliance with International Ride Training’s iROC program and corporate operations policies and standards, keeping accurate records as per Six Flags and IRT policies. 
  • Coordinate Training: Coordinating and conducting department certification, orientation and ongoing on-the-job training, you'll ensure every team member is well-prepared.
  • Approach Problem-Solving: Approaching problem-solving and difficult situations with a composed and attentive demeanor, you'll find effective solutions.
  • Recruit and Train Staff: From recruitment to training and scheduling, you'll oversee all aspects of staff management with precision and organization.
  • Foster Interdepartmental Communication: Fostering effective communication with other departments, you'll optimize guest service efficiencies.
  • Contribute to Fiscal Goals: Assisting in the preparation, implementation, and evaluation of fiscal budgets and labor optimization efforts, you'll contribute to the financial success of Six Flags Fiesta Texas.
  • Commit to Safety Standards: Demonstrating unwavering commitment to safety standards, you'll prioritize the well-being of both guests and staff.
  • Meet Sales Targets: Consistently meeting or surpassing established sales and service targets, you'll play a crucial role in the growth of Six Flags Fiesta Texas.
  • Act as Manager On-Duty: Stepping in as Manager On-Duty as needed, you'll ensure operations run smoothly for your department and division.

Qualifications:
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with strong organizational and administrative abilities 
  • Proven leadership experience with a collaborative, team oriented approach 
  • Strong initiative with the ability to manage multiple priorities from planning to execution 
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment and meet critical deadlines 
  • Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods outdoors in varied weather conditions, including extreme heat and sun 
  • Availability to work flexible schedules including days, nights, weekends, and holidays 
  • Possess a valid Texas driver’s license 
  • High school diploma required; college degree preferred 
  • Theme park or waterpark experience strongly preferred 
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a plus 

OTHER NOTES: 

  • All other duties as assigned or necessary to support the park as a whole. 
  • Reports to Operations Manager.
