Headquartered in Frisco, Texas, QCD services thousands of restaurants throughout the United States. Providing over 37,000 deliveries a week from 25 strategically located distribution centers, the QCD fleet averages more than 40 million miles driven per year. QCD associates also help run a national non-profit, the GSF Foundation.

ABOUT THE JOB
The Operations Manager plans and manages warehouse, and transportation operations to meet QCD and GSF objectives for quality, efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction. This person is expected to assume General Manager duties in senior management's absence. This location has approximately 130 associates in a non-union environment.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Plans and coordinates warehouse, transportation, and purchasing activities to ensure that department and GSF productivity and quality objectives are met or exceeded. (25%)
  • Manages assigned staff, assigning work, providing training and development, evaluating performance, and building a motivated, effective team to ensure that organizational goals for diversity, career development, productivity, performance management and employee involvement are met. Assists in the recruitment and selection of employees. (20%)
  • Audits operational procedures and programs to identify and implement improvements in product availability, storage, sanitation, security and inventory delivery, resulting in increased timeliness and productivity. (15%)
  • Develops, audits, and controls the budget within plan. (10%)
  • Oversees purchasing, leasing, and maintenance of distribution equipment (tractors, trailers, material handling equipment) to achieve safety, longevity, and efficiency objectives. (10%)
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures to comply with company, customer, and regulatory agency guidelines for safety and productivity. (10%)
  • Communicates with senior management and employees to ensure the effective dissemination of company policies, analysis, and operations-related information required for effective decision-making. (10%)
  • Performs other related and assigned duties as necessary.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, and/or with a concentration in Logistics or Distribution management from an accredited college or university.

Experience:
  • 7 to 10 years of work experience in a distribution environment encompassing transportation and warehouse management experience. (Preferred)
  • Food distribution experience preferred.
  • Bilingual: English/Spanish preferred
  • Some P/L management experience needed.
