Job description

Clipper Petroleum is seeking a motivated and results-driven Fleet Fuel Card Sales Representative to promote and grow adoption of our private label fleet card program across our network of 25 fueling stations. This role combines outside sales, account management, and customer support. The ideal candidate is comfortable prospecting new business, guiding customers through account setup, and providing ongoing customer service to fleets, ensuring long-term satisfaction and retention.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities with commercial fleet operators, small businesses, and local organizations
  • Present and sell the Clipper Fleet Advantage fuel card, clearly communicating its benefits, cost savings, fleet controls, and reporting features
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified prospects through cold calling, networking, referrals, and in-person visits
  • Guide customers through the application and onboarding process, ensuring accurate and timely account setup
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for fleet card customers, providing responsive support and issue resolution
  • Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients to drive repeat business and account growth
  • Collaborate with the fleet processor on credit, operations, and customer service to ensure smooth onboarding and ongoing account management
  • Monitor customer usage, identify upsell opportunities, and recommend solutions that align with customer needs
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline status in CRM systems
  • Stay informed on market trends, competitor offerings, and industry developments

Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of sales experience, preferably in B2B, fuel, financial services, or fleet-related industries
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage a sales territory
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to service excellence
  • Ability to understand and explain financial products and payment solutions
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally to client sites and fueling locations

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience selling fuel cards, payment solutions, or fleet management services
  • Established relationships with local businesses or fleet operators
  • Knowledge of commercial fueling operations or transportation/logistics industries

Education and Experience
  • Sales experience working with independent owners is preferred.
  • High school degree or equivalent.

  • Knowledge of fuels marketing is preferred but not required.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. You will be expected to work Monday through Friday, 8-5 PM - minimum 45 hours per week. Evening and weekend work may be required to support fleet customerses demand. You will be expected to be available at all hours to field calls and address urgent employee issues.
Working Conditions
  • This role is a home office based, field sales position and regular visits to Clipper Petroleum fueling stations. The position requires frequent local travel and direct interaction with customers.
