Job description

WHAT YOU'LL OWN
Business Partnership - Build strong relationships with market leaders, get close to team dynamics and business needs through regular site visits, and act as the liaison between field operations and People Experience leadership. Support the rollout of people programs and reinforce ECW culture, values, and leadership expectations every day.
Employee Relations Advisory - Serve as a trusted advisor on performance management, coaching, workplace conduct concerns, and policy interpretation. Support investigations, documentation, and next steps so issues get handled fairly, consistently, and in line with company policy.
Leader Coaching & Capability - Provide proactive coaching that strengthens leadership and reduces workplace risk, building leaders' confidence to handle people matters with sound judgment.
Workforce & Succession Planning - Partner with leaders on workforce planning, promotion readiness, and succession conversations, and support internal promotions and mobility into leadership roles.
Data-Informed Insights - Monitor market-level people metrics - turnover, time-to-fill, promotion readiness, performance trends - and use them to guide leader conversations, spot risks early, and shape workforce planning.
Leadership Hiring - Support recruitment for frontline leadership roles - Keyholders, ASMs, and SMs. Guide hiring managers through structured, compliant, efficient selection, and make sure every hire brings the quality, leadership capability, and cultural fit the role demands.
Clear Lanes - Partner closely with - but don't directly own - payroll processing, benefits administration, leave management logistics, and corporate HR operations.
WHAT YOU BRING
  • Experience in employee relations, or HR/people business partnership
  • Strong judgment in handling sensitive workplace matters with discretion
  • Ability to coach and influence leaders with confidence and professionalism
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, multi-site environment
  • Experience supporting frontline or multi-site leadership roles - a plus, but we'll develop the right fit

HOW YOU SHOW UP - ECW COMPETENCIES
  • Leadership Hiring Partnership - You build pipelines and guide managers to hire strong, compliant, culture-aligned frontline leaders.
  • Employee Relations Judgment - You handle sensitive matters with discretion and fairness, making sound, consistent decisions.
  • Coaching & Influence - You strengthen leaders' capability and confidence, influencing well beyond your formal authority.
  • Business Partnership - You connect people decisions to business results and stay close to what's happening in the field.
  • Data-Informed Decision Making - You let metrics - not hunches - guide your conversations and workforce plans.
  • Communication & Trust Building - You communicate clearly and show up as a steady, trusted partner leaders count on.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
  • Leaders feel confident and supported in handling people matters
  • Employee relations risk drops through proactive partnership
  • Stable leadership teams and improved site-level retention
  • Consistent, positive people practices across all assigned locations
  • A strong pipeline and timely hiring of Keyholders, ASMs, and SMs across your market

WHERE THIS LEADS
This role is a launchpad - a clear pathway into Senior People Partner, Talent Leadership, or multi-market People Experience leadership roles as ECW grows.
