Position: Warehouse Assistant Lead – Inbound Rail Project (Temporary)
Pay: $17 - $19/hr DOE

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 12:00 PM – 8:30 PM (hours may vary based on operational needs)
Duration: Approximately 8–12 weeks, with potential for future opportunities through Express Employment Professionals.

Job Summary

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a dependable Assistant Lead to support an inbound railcar unloading project. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll work alongside a crew of 4–5 employees while helping oversee daily unloading operations. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, safety-focused, and comfortable working independently while leading by example.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with leading a crew of 4–5 employees during railcar unloading operations.
  • Perform railcar unloading duties while providing guidance and support to team members.
  • Inspect railcars for damage, defects, and safety concerns.
  • Load and unload freight following established safety procedures.
  • Connect and disconnect railcars, including couplers, air hoses, and hand brakes.
  • Assist with railcar movement and switching operations as needed.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections and report maintenance or repair needs.
  • Complete required paperwork and maintain accurate operational records.
  • Operate equipment safely while following all company policies and safety standards.
Qualifications
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Previous warehouse experience preferred (1+ year).
  • Previous sit-down forklift experience preferred (1+ year).
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, and climbing.
  • Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
