Position Title:
Environmental Manager
Pay Rate:
$121,300 to $148,300
Multiple factors, including individual experience, skills, and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range.

The Job You Will Perform:
  • Responsible for overall environmental compliance for a kraft pulp mill, including air, wastewater, solid waste, and hazardous waste programs of the Port Wentworth Mill.
  • Lead air compliance program, including Title V permitting, data collection, stack testing, QA/QC and reporting activities.
  • Lead Mill's Environmental Management System to ensure ISO14001 Certification
  • Lead air program training and directing operations and maintenance staff to ensure compliance
  • Support Global Cellulose Fibers and mill regulatory programs such SPCC, SWPPP, sustainability, chemical reporting
  • Implement projects and best management practices to support compliance with all applicable environmental laws, regulations, and corporate policies
  • Demonstrate due diligence and environmental stewardship
  • Interact with and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies as appropriate, including EPA Region 4, SSRC, and Georgia EPD, corporate leaders and subject matter experts
  • Strategically plan for compliance on any capital or process involvement projects
  • Serve as a leader for workforce engagement, diversity, employee and staff development and employee relations within the department.
  • Responsible for financial management of environmental department including establishing and managing budgets and compliance with financial controls
  • Oversee timely completion of all monthly, quarterly, annual state and federal environmental reports
  • Serve in community and environmental committee as required
  • Investigate, identify root causes and corrective actions for environmental incidents.
  • Respond to all concerns, complaints, and queries from regulators, the community, and audit findings
  • Service on environmental weekend rotation

The Qualifications, Skills, and Knowledge You Will Bring:
  • At least 5-10 years Pulp & Paper Mill environmental management experience
  • Minimum of a B.S. in a science or engineering discipline (advanced degree in science, engineering or MBA is a plus)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
