Job description

The Assistant Manager is responsible for making sure that the daily operations of Fresh Value run smoothly by supporting staff on the sales floor and managing administrative duties to support the Store Manager and Co-Manager.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· Oversee the daily workflow of the store in the store manager’s absence. Assigns staff to ensure efficient operations.
· Manages the front-end in the absence of the Front-End Manager.
· Recommends discipline of employees by partnering with their Store Manager as needed and in accordance with policy.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Ensures consistent, efficient, pleasant customer experiences; resolves any customer service issues, complaints, or requests.
· Continually support the management team by completing all assigned office/paperwork.
· Display all Ad planner items and ensure the surveyed product is on the sales floor.
· Maintain safety, cleanliness, and attractiveness of the store.
· Supports the management team, ensuring all front-end products are full and ordered.
· Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements/Responsibilities

Required Skills/Abilities:
· Exceptional customer service and managerial skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
· Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
Education and Experience:
· High School Diploma or Equivalent.
· At least one year of experience in retail management, preferably in grocery, with increasing levels of responsibility required.
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
· Must be able to traverse and access all areas of the supermarket.
