Job description

Meet the Moment with Alteryx

We're living through a once-in-a-generation shift in how work gets done. Data, automation, and AI are quickly becoming the center of every business decision - and Alteryx is leading the transformation.

You'll be working on the challenges that sit at the heart of modern business. No matter your role, the work you do will help organizations move faster, see more clearly, and tackle questions that used to feel impossible.

If you're ready to meet the moment with innovation, curiosity, and excellence, there's a place for you here.

Position Overview

We're looking for a Lead Software Engineer to build and scale the front-end experiences behind Alteryx's next generation of agentic analytics products, including Ask Alteryx, our AI workflow-building agent. The role focuses on React, TypeScript, and micro frontend architecture, with an emphasis on creating polished, reliable, and intuitive user experiences.

You'll work across product areas, reusable UI patterns, and integration layers that connect front-end experiences to backend services and AI workflows. While this is a front-end-leaning role, we're looking for someone who can work across the stack, or is motivated to grow in that direction, including contributing to API design, backend integrations, and service improvements when project needs require it.

Depending on roadmap needs, the role will support Ask Alteryx directly and also contribute to other AI front-end initiatives across the products. You'll partner with Product, Design, Backend, and Platform teams to deliver end-to-end experiences, shape technical direction, and help advance AI initiatives across the product portfolio.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Build and ship front-end features for Ask Alteryx and related AI experiences

  • Design reusable well documented component patterns and release processes that enable cross-company adoption

  • Partner closely with Product, Design, Backend, and Platform teams to ship end-to-end experiences

  • Improve accessibility, performance, testing, and overall UI quality

  • Strengthen technical designs and code through review

  • Drive refactoring, modernization, and technical decisions that improve the product and developer experience

  • Mentor senior engineers and help develop team capabilities

  • Influence decisions beyond the immediate team and align technical direction with business priorities

Requirements

  • 6+ years building production front-end systems with React and TypeScript

  • Strong experience with component libraries such as MUI or similar

  • Experience building complex, user-facing products with high standards for usability and reliability

  • Solid fundamentals in testing, code quality, and scalable UI architecture

  • Experience shipping features while owning broader architecture, technical direction, and team enablement

  • Strong collaboration skills and comfort working across Product, Design, Backend, and Engineering

  • Demonstrated technical leadership for a team or area

Valued Skills

  • Experience building micro frontend architectures and/or Module Federation

  • Experience building design systems

  • Familiarity with AI-assisted or agentic product experiences

  • Experience working in ambiguous, fast-moving product areas

  • Full stack experience

About You

You're energized by building intuitive, high-quality user experiences. You work independently, communicate clearly, and make strong technical decisions without over-engineering. You care about craftsmanship, collaboration, and delivering products that feel polished, reliable, and useful.
