Job Summary

Manage daily appointment calendar, serving as the primary point of contact for clients or patients. Key responsibilities include answering high-volume calls, scheduling/rescheduling appointments, verifying insurance or client data, and greeting visitors, while ensuring high accuracy in Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) or scheduling software.

General Accountabilities

  • Communication: Coordinate with staff, send appointment reminders, and handle patient inquiries regarding procedures
  • Uses various computer applications, such as database management and word processing
  • Data Management & Verification: Update client demographics, verify insurance information, and maintain accurate records in EMR/system
  • Creates, maintains, and enters data into databases
  • Schedule, confirm, cancel, and reschedule appointments, ensuring optimal utilization of provider or staff time.
  • Collect co-pays, process payments, and explain financial obligations
  • Maintain a clean reception area, scan documents, and follow HIPAA protocols
