Job Summary

We are seeking a customer-focused Front Desk Receptionist who enjoys working in a fast-paced healthcare environment. As a Front Desk Receptionist, you will perform a variety of reception and clerical duties while serving as the primary point of contact for the hospital. You will facilitate communication between nursing staff, physicians, administration, and other departments to ensure efficient daily operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Reception & Communication

• Answer all incoming calls in a professional manner.
• Route calls to the appropriate departments.
• Take and relay messages for therapy and administrative personnel when they are unavailable.
• Assist callers by locating appropriate personnel to answer questions regarding patient status, hospital services, staffing, and other inquiries.
• Page staff, patients, and visitors as needed.
• Place hospital-related calls for staff and patients.
• Monitor the telephone system for usage or technical issues and notify the appropriate personnel when problems arise.

Customer Service

• Greet patients, visitors, physicians, and hospital personnel in a friendly and professional manner.
• Direct visitors to the appropriate departments or locations.
• Notify staff of arriving appointments, family members, and special guests.
• Direct new employees and job applicants to the appropriate department.

Administrative Support

• Schedule conference rooms for meetings and tours.
• Coordinate FedEx and UPS deliveries and pickups.
• Distribute bi-monthly payroll to hospital personnel.
• Accurately track and process incoming payments for meals, postage, and other miscellaneous expenses.
• Provide clerical support to other departments as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous receptionist, customer service, or administrative experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
