Job description

Jones Telepractice Agency is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavoir Coach for the Dysart Unified School District.
 
This position is full time.

The Behavior Coach (ESS) works in partnership with students, school staff, parents, and the community to promote student achievement and support students with emotional and behavioral disabilities. The coach assists school staff in planning, modeling, and developing behavioral strategies to foster a positive, productive learning environment in both general education and special education settings.

Key Responsibilities & Essential Duties

Staff Training & Modeling:
Train and support campus staff in implementing effective behavioral intervention strategies and positive classroom management techniques.
Model behavior intervention strategies directly in the classroom to support teachers and paraprofessionals.

FBA & BIP Development:
Support school teams in conducting Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and writing, implementing, and monitoring Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
Help IEP teams design individualized behavioral goals and strategies that support student success.

Observation & Data Collection:
Conduct classroom observations of student behaviors, provide structured written feedback on interventions, and monitor the progress of both students and staff.
Assist campus staff in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting behavioral data to ensure data-driven decisions.

Direct Student Support:
Create structured opportunities for students with emotional and behavioral difficulties to practice appropriate social skills and self-regulation.
Assist in de-escalating student crises using approved, safe behavioral practices.

Family & Community Liaison:
Act as a bridge between families, schools, and community agencies to facilitate access to behavioral resources.
Share behavioral strategy updates and resources with parents to ensure consistency between school and home environments.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education, Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), or a closely related field (Master's preferred).

Experience:
Proven experience working with children diagnosed with behavioral and emotional disabilities.
Demonstrated background or coursework in Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS).
Experience working with linguistically and culturally diverse populations.

Licensing/Certifications (Strictly Required):
Valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI / CPI) Certification (or willingness to obtain).
Valid First Aid/CPR Certification (in-person certification only).
Language: English fluency required; Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly preferred.

Skills & Core Competencies
Strong knowledge of specialized behavioral strategies, PBIS frameworks, and data tracking methods.
Competency in managing sensitive student records with strict adherence to FERPA guidelines and confidentiality protocols.
Exceptional communication skills for writing original evaluation reports and collaborating with diverse multidisciplinary teams.
