Coding Supervisor

The Coding Supervisor oversees and manages the medical coding team, ensuring accurate, compliant, and efficient coding of medical records while providing leadership, training, and auditing support.

Schedule: FT, 40 hours. Monday - Friday during normal business hours. Schedule to be determined upon hire.

Location: 2750 Front Street Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221

  • Supervise and manage coding staff: Oversee daily operations of the coding department, assign work, monitor productivity, and ensure accurate coding of inpatient and outpatient records using ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS
  • Training and education: Provide ongoing education to coders and clinical staff on coding updates, compliance, and best practices
  • Auditing and quality assurance: Conduct regular audits to ensure coding accuracy, compliance with regulatory guidelines, and optimal reimbursement
  • Policy and procedure development: Develop, review, and implement coding policies, departmental procedures, and internal coding manuals
  • Collaboration and support: Serve as a resource for other departments, resolve coding-related issues, and coordinate with management to improve workflow and operational efficiency
  • Performance management: Evaluate staff performance, recommend training opportunities, and participate in hiring, onboarding, and disciplinary actions
  • Reporting: Prepare departmental reports on coding productivity, compliance, and operational activities for management review
  • Occasional site visits may be required when needed

Required Qualifications:

  • High School / GED
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) through AAPC
  • 5+ years of coding experience (including training related to CPT procedural coding and ICD10 CM diagnostic coding)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of coding guidelines, compliance regulations, auditing practices, analytical and problem-solving skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel or other relevant software
  • Strong communication, team building and mentoring abilities to maintain a high performing coding team

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $60,200 to $107,400 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
