Job description

POSITION TITLE: Translator - Store Operations (Spanish) Contractor (Remote)ย ย 

REPORTS TO: Manager - Field Communication

ASSIGNMENT CLARIFICATION:

You will be considered an employee of System One, our 3rd party partner of our contractor population, and/or of your specific freelance agency.

POSITION SUMMARY:ย The translator will be responsible for supporting our Spanish-speaking US business with timely, accurate translations of communications and materials using manual and computer-assisted methods. Building and maintaining translation memory databases will be a key responsibility of this role. The translator will work cross-functionally and with the Lead Translator: Field Communication &ย  Sr. Translator, MX, to keep stores aligned and informed with written materials translated from English to Spanish. This role will focus on daily communication, store processes and procedures, training materials, and resource library documents.

RESPONSIBILITIES:ย 

  • Translate all US/CDA-facing communication content from English to Spanish.
  • Develop translation memory databases and glossaries to ensure consistency.
  • Deliver all translated materials accurately and within established deadlines.
  • Proofread finished materials so the original meaning, format, and tone align with AEO brand standards.
  • Format visual materials and graphics post-translation to maintain visual consistency across brands.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to establish and improve translation processes for field-facing materials.
  • Cultivate a deep understanding of business processes and context to guarantee accurate translation and interpretation.
  • Maintain detailed translation logs and project timelines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent certification in Translation or Interpreting
  • Minimum Experience: 3 years translating or interpreting
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish
  • Efficient in Adobe InDesign and Canva
  • Skilled in Google Office applications (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and PDF formats
  • Familiarity with learning management systems and SCORM
  • Experience working with CAT tools and Translation Memories
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated with a critical attention to detail and deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and deadlines
  • Ability to translate an average of 1500 words per dayย

  • Actual starting pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to relevant experience and location.
