General Description
The Consulting Services division of RubinBrown LLP provides strategic guidance to clients across many industries and business units. This division helps businesses improve processes, comply with regulations, strengthen information technology support, perform complex data analytics, consult on ERP implementations, investigate potential fraud, support M&A activities, and perform valuation of businesses or transactions, along with performing industry-focused consulting such as gaming and healthcare. Team members with the Consulting team are dynamic, well-rounded, creative, and independent thinkers who have a strategic mindset.
A Litigation Support Intern will have the opportunity to contribute to bankruptcy consulting, forensic accounting, economic damage calculations, and various other litigation support services. Responsibilities of the Litigation Support Intern include:
  • Supporting the review, organization, and analysis of financial information, legal filings, contracts, and other relevant documents related to matters involving bankruptcy and insolvency, commercial damages, forensic accounting, and fraud investigations.
  • Conducting fact-finding research, industry related research, and compiling background information relevant to engagements.
  • Performing forensic analysis and developing comprehensive financial models.
  • Assisting with the detailed review and analysis of financial records and transactions.
  • Helping prepare detailed reports, and summaries of findings for use in legal proceedings.
  • Participate in meetings, interviews, and case-related discussions.

Major Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
  • Communicate professionally, productively, and efficiently with team members and clients.
  • Perform assigned tasks independently under the guidance and feedback of other team members as needed.
  • Manage time effectively, organizing work across multiple assignments.
  • Apply critical thinking/problem solving skills and technical/functional expertise to assigned projects.
  • Assist in preparing accurate, high-quality deliverables for clients according to firm standards and deadlines.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office applications and Adobe to analyze data and complete workpapers.
  • Uphold professional and ethical standards at all times.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of technical accounting and financial reporting standards, including GAAP.
  • Exhibit strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and completeness of work.
  • Show initiative, teamwork, and leadership potential in a professional services environment.
  • Maintain a client-service mindset with a commitment to meeting client needs and expectations.

Preferred Experience/Background/Skills
  • Enrollment in, or completion of, a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting at the junior level or higher.
  • Planned graduation (with ability to start a full-time role) May 2028 or earlier
  • Coursework or minor in Finance, Economics, Information Technology, Management, and/or Consulting a plus.
  • Plans to pursue professional licensure/certification, such as CPA or CFA.

Working Conditions
  • This is an in-person/hybrid position.
  • The typical schedule is 40 hours per week for the duration of the internship. Reduced hours are arranged on a case-by-case basis.
  • Typical business hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00AM to 5:00PM, with a commitment to flexibility and work-life balance. The working schedule for this position will be discussed and finalized with candidates upon successful hiring.
