L3Harris has an opening in the Business Development organization responsible for developing new business in our Maritime Sector businesses. The location will be in the Washington DC area. The new hire will reinforce, establish and grow customer relationships, identify and shape pursuits, assist with developing capture strategy, and provide effective internal and external communications regarding pursuits.

The successful candidate will have subject matter expertise in maritime systems, capabilities and products. This candidate will be mission-focused, with leadership and expertise across strategic and operational planning, warfighting integration, technology and capability development, and enterprise transformation. The position will require in-depth knowledge of US Navy programs, strategic mindset with an application for business development. This position will support the Maritime Sector, leading multiple growth campaigns, senior customer engagements specifically to protect and expand upon current and future maritime franchises. Additionally, this candidate will communicate internal and external of the organization to explain and influence changes to practices, processes and approaches, and implement operational plans and strategies that have measurable impact on business outcomes.

Essential Functions:
  • Adept at navigating complex stakeholder landscapes and aligning mission objectives with strategic priorities
  • Develop and execute an effective plan and strategy for increasing orders, bookings and opportunity captures
  • Establish strong and intimate relationships with key Department of War (DoW) and US Navy customers to facilitate ongoing and new business opportunities
  • Identify new and adjacent markets, unmet customer needs and opportunities to expand existing programs/products
  • Provide proficient knowledge of L3Harris products, product applications, systems and solutions to peers, partners and potential customers to develop new business opportunities
  • Effectively translate technical understanding of our products and technology for purposes of customer communication and engagement
  • Collaborate with BD teammates including marketing communications, business development leaders, and capture teams
  • Participate in strategic planning and development of business cases for internal research and development
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of DoW and US Navy acquisition processes and programs
  • Exceptional leadership and decision-making skills and strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Create and foster a business acumen culture that embraces a strategic, proactive approach to support business area leaders with identifying, actively pursuing and closing new business

Qualifications:
  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree or higher with a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience
  • Active SECRET Security Clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI Security Clearance
Preferred Additional Skills:
  • Experience engaging with senior executives at government agencies, major prime contractors, and commercial companies

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington State, DC and Virginia (Greater D.C. area), Denver, or NYC areas is $184K-$341K. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland Ohio, Vermont and Virginia (outside of Greater D.C. area) is $160K-$297K. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
