Global Franchise & Distribution Associate – Multiple Locations

Direct Counsel is representing an AmLaw 100 firm seeking a junior to mid-level Associate to join its Global Franchise & Distribution practice. This position is open across multiple U.S. offices and offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of franchising and distribution matters, including transactions, disputes, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with franchise and distribution disputes, including mediation, litigation, and arbitration

  • Support the development and structuring of franchise and distribution programs

  • Draft and review franchise disclosure documents, franchise agreements, and distribution agreements

  • Advise clients on franchise contract issues, regulatory compliance, and relationship matters

  • Assist with state registrations, supply contracts, and transactional matters

  • Support international franchising, licensing, and cross-border transactions when applicable

Qualifications
  • J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials

  • 2+ years of experience in franchise, distribution, or related commercial law

  • Law firm experience or similar environment

  • Experience with franchise disputes, regulatory compliance, and franchise documentation preferred

  • Experience with supply contracts, international franchising, or cross-border transactions is a plus

  • Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills

  • Active bar admission in the jurisdiction where the candidate intends to practice

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $220,000 – $435,000, depending on experience, plus a discretionary bonus.
