They help organizations plan, execute, and oversee projects efficiently without the long-term commitment of a full-time hire. This role is ideal for businesses that need expert project management but may not have the workload or budget for a dedicated full-time position. Fractional Project Managers often work across multiple clients and industries, bringing diverse experience and best practices to each project.

What are the typical responsibilities of a fractional project manager on a weekly basis?

As a Fractional Project Manager, your weekly responsibilities often include coordinating project timelines, managing stakeholder communication, and overseeing deliverables across multiple client accounts. This structure allows you to work with a variety of businesses, gaining exposure to multiple industries while ensuring projects stay on track.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the fractional project manager position, and why are they important?

A Fractional Project Manager thrives with expertise in project management methodologies, strong organizational skills, and experience handling multiple projects for different clients or teams. Exceptional communication, time management, and adaptability are distinguishing soft skills in this role. These abilities are vital for efficiently managing diverse client needs, delivering projects on time, and building strong stakeholder relationships in a part-time or contract-based setting.

Job description

Fractional CFO (Hybrid | Saratoga Springs, NY / Albany, NY)
$55-$65/hr | Flexible Schedule | Exceptional Team Culture

CEFO Advisors is hiring a seasoned Fractional CFO to join our dynamic team serving clients from Albany to New Orleans. With over a decade of leadership in outsourced fractional financial advisory services, we offer a unique opportunity to work with diverse businesses in a hybrid setting; partially remote, partially on-site at client offices, and in our newly renovated, dog-friendly office in Saratoga Springs.
As a Fractional CFO, you'll partner directly with business owners, delivering strategic financial insights and managing high-impact projects -- from forecasting and systems implementation to M&A support and team development. You'll be a key player in driving growth, solving problems, and building better financial futures for our clients.

Please note this is a general interest listing, meaning there is no active role that needs filling, but we are always looking for exceptional CFOs to add to our team.
What We're Looking For:

  • 20+ years of progressive financial experience at the CFO, Controller or Director of Finance level
  • Strong client-facing and advisory background
  • Deep knowledge of GAAP, ERP systems, and financial strategy
  • Experience with QuickBooks, Sage products, or similar platforms
  • A reliable, detail-obsessed, team-oriented professional
  • You must be based within 60 miles of Saratoga Springs, NY and able to commute to our office and client sites as needed.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive pay with incentive and commission opportunities
  • Health, dental, and vision benefits
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Excellent PTO, 10 paid holidays (including your birthday!)
  • Flexible, hybrid work schedule

Bring your financial expertise to a team that values collaboration, accountability, and balance. Apply today to join CEFO Advisors.
