About the Role: Fractional Controller

Looking for an accounting job in San Antonio where you can grow your career? The Fractional Controller plays a central role in ADKF’s CAS practice, delivering outsourced accounting, advisory, and controller level support to clients in diverse industries. This role combines technical accounting expertise [SP1] [SP2] with client‑focused advisory responsibilities, making it an ideal opportunity for an experienced accountant or CPA seeking professional development and career growth.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage recurring accounting engagements for multiple clients, delivering accurate and timely accounting services
  • Prepare and review financial statements, month‑end close, and reconciliations
  • Provide advisory insights on financial performance, cash flow, and operational metrics
  • Assist clients with process improvement, internal controls, and accounting best practices
  • Support and sometimes lead onboarding for new CAS clients
  • Collaborate with partners and managers on engagement strategy and client communication
  • Mentor and guide accounting staff team members within the CAS department
  • Build lasting client relationships based on clarity, responsiveness, and trust

What You Bring

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 3–6 years of accounting experience, including strong technical accounting skills
  • Public accounting experience highly preferred (especially as an audit senior or accounting services senior)
    • Audit experience typically produces the ideal skillset for an Accounting Services senior: analytical rigor, documentation discipline, GAAP fluency, and multi‑client project management
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting standards
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines
  • Excellent communication and client‑service skills[SP3]

Preferred

  • CPA license or active progress toward CPA certification
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online, Restaurant 365, and/or mid‑market ERP systems
  • Prior experience in outsourced accounting, fractional controller, or advisory services
