Job description

Cohen Cunningham DeRose Higgins Lyon LLP was founded on a shared vision: to build the kind of law firm we always knew was possible - one rooted in excellence, integrity, and mutual respect. This foundation will continue to strengthen as we grow with careful intent to preserve our core values that make us who we are. We bring deep expertise, a collaborative culture, and an unwavering belief that high performance and human connection can (and should) coexist.

At Cohen Cunningham, Inspired Advocacy isn't just a tagline - it's who we are. We're building a firm where talent, integrity, and humanity matter in equal measure. We're looking for people who are not only excellent at what they do, but who thrive in a collaborative, ego-free environment where curiosity, humility, and humor are valued.

We provide competitive compensation and benefits. We offer Community. Mentorship.

Growth. A place where your contributions matter and diverse perspectives make us all stronger. We take the practice of law seriously.

Ourselves. Not so much. We're seeking a full-time General Liability Associate to join our Metro New York team.

Candidates should have at least three years of experience managing the full life cycle of litigation matters, including discovery, depositions, motion practice, and preparation for mediation, arbitration, and trial. Actual trial experience is not required. The ideal candidate has strong writing and analytical skills, exercises sound judgment, and brings experience in civil litigation.

Experience with professional liability matters is a plus but not required. Admission to the New York Bar is required. We have offices throughout the state and offer flexible remote work options.

The annualized salary range for this position is $100,000 to $140,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position includes a comprehensive benefits package, which features health and dental insurance, a 401(k) plan, and additional offerings designed to support overall well-being.

Cohen Cunningham DeRose Higgins Lyon LLP is an Equal Opportunity Employer. For the benefit of our clients, team and Firm, Cohen Cunningham is dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued and respected. Our Firm's policy is to recruit, employ, train, compensate, and promote individuals without regard to race, religion, creed, national origin, age, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, military or veteran status, disability, genetic information, or any other category protected by applicable law.

If you require assistance or accommodations to participate in the application or interview process, please contact the recruiting representative listed for the relevant position or location, and we will gladly work with you to meet your needs. Cohen Cunningham does not accept candidate submissions from external recruiters or agencies without prior approval and a signed agreement in place. Unsolicited submissions sent via our internal email system will not be considered.

Any agency that fails to follow these procedures or submit candidates outside the terms of a signed agreement acknowledges that Cohen Cunningham will not treat those submissions as formal referrals, and no obligations or fees will be owed as a result. If your agency would like to discuss a potential candidate or explore a recruiting partnership with Cohen Cunningham, please contact us at Recruiting@CohenCunningham.com to be considered before sending any materials.
