Harborview Social Work has an outstanding opportunity for a SANE Program - Forensic Evidence Coordinator to join the Harborview Abuse & Trauma Center (HATC).

WORK SCHEDULE

  • Part-Time / 20 hours per week

  • Day Shift

  • All work is in-person

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

  • Support the Forensic Nursing Program with managing forensic evidence collected during SANE exams at HMC and partner hospitals.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow chain of custody protocols to maintain secure and accurate handling, documentation, storage, and transfer or release of forensic evidence in accordance with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Manage the secure storage of photographs and documents related to medical forensic exams.
  • Perform routine audits of evidence storage areas to ensure compliance with regulations and procedures.
  • Prepare and present reports and documentation for investigators, attorneys, and court proceedings.
  • Testify in court regarding the collection and handling of forensic evidence.
  • Assist in training other personnel in evidence handling and processing procedures.
  • Support the coordination of forensic nursing program, ensuring timelines, communication, and deliverables are met.
  • Maintain and as requested disseminate accurate program records, schedules, and patient data.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to enhance program impact and reach.
  • Order and track clinical and forensic medical supplies required for SANE exams to ensure availability and inventory control.


REQUIREMENTS:
High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience in the program specialty.

Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
